But soon, Manfred's heartbeat steadied. He answered in a low voice, "I want her to be happy. So, I will let her return with her parents to the world where she belongs to fulfill her dreams."
This answer surprised Viola, who was standing in front of him.
"Are you truly willing to let her go?" she asked again.
This time, Manfred didn't hesitate. "Yes."
Viola frowned, disbelief flickering in her eyes. She had never expected Manfred to let Vivian go. After all, for these past few years, Manfred had only ever had eyes for Vivian and had not been interested in anyone else.
Manfred was known for his ruthlessness in pursuing his goals, but when it came to Vivian, he unexpectedly chose to let her go. Viola was surprised by his decision, not anticipating he would release her so easily after all this time.
Manfred noticed that the old woman hadn't disappeared after hearing his answer. Suspicion crept into his heart. "Who exactly are you?"
Viola took a step back. Then, she let out three loud laughs.
"If you've made your decision, don't regret it!" With those final words, she vanished before his eyes.
Manfred stared at the empty space where she had stood, his confusion lingering.
The sun had fully risen.
Vivian barely slept through the night, yet she wasn't tired.
After breakfast, she got into the carriage and took some medicine.
Perhaps it was because of the lack of sleep, but her body felt slightly off. The medicine helped ease some of the fatigue.
"We'll arrive in Graystone by this afternoon," Manfred said gently, watching her weary expression.
He could guess that she hadn't slept well the previous night. Neither had he.
By the time they reached Graystone, if the couple they were meeting turned out to be her parents, today might be the day they parted ways forever.
Vivian's eyes were slightly red, but she smiled faintly and hummed in response.
"If you're tired, take a nap. I'll wake you when we reach Graystone," Manfred said softly.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
