Christopher said, “Other women can’t compare to Skylar. She’s the only one in my heart.” 

Christopher was deeply, obsessed. 

“Are you out of your mind? Look at how Skylar had already forgotten you. See how she treated me before and how she treats me now?” Amelia was furious and frustrated. 

Christopher’s lips pressed tightly together. “No one can replace Skylar. Mom, I only want Skylar!” 

His future felt empty without her. 

“Skylar is something else entirely. What kind of spell has she cast on you?” Amelia was nearly beside herself with rage. 

“I’ll make her come back to me,” Christopher said firmly. 

As long as he could make Joe give up on Skylar, he would find a way to get her back. 

It was the weekend. Janine got up early to go to the market for groceries. 

Steven had come home the night before and said he would help Janine prepare lunch. 

While picking vegetables, Janine asked, “Do you know who Skye is bringing home? It shouldn’t be her roommate, right? Could it be her new boyfriend?”

Charles had just returned. He overheard their conversation and asked Steven, “When did you meet him? Why didn’t Skye tell me about him?” 

Steven replied briefly, “Not long ago.” 

Charles felt jealous. He said, “I clearly don’t hold a special place in Skylar’s heart.” 

“You’re always so busy with work and filming. Skylar had always preferred confiding in Steven anyway. Why are you jealous? Wash the vegetables. Skylar is bringing her boyfriend over today, so everyone should behave and not scare him away. 

“Actually, scaring him a little might be good. It could make him think twice about mistreating Skylar in the future,” Janine said impatiently to Charles. 

Charles rubbed his nose. Janine had a valid point. He wasn’t truly jealous. He just didn’t like Skylar keeping things from him. It was similar to how he preferred talking to Steven about his issues. 

With Christopher as a precedent, he had to thoroughly vet Skylar’s boyfriend this time. If her boyfriend coming today seemed unreliable, he would make sure that man stayed as far away as possible.

Harvey came out of the restroom, brimming with youthful energy. He had overheard their entire conversation. He declared, “Anyone who mistreats my sister will face my wrath.” 

“Don’t worry. With me and Steven here, no one will be able to bully Skye.” Charles assured him. 

The three men in their family all had strong personalities. Previously, they hadn’t known what the Williams family and Christopher had done to Skylar. Hence, they hadn’t protected her 

well.

They would make sure Skylar was well protected. 

Janine continued chatting with Steven while preparing the meal. What do you think of this guy? How does he compare to Christopher?” 

Steven paused his work and replied, “There’s no comparison.” 

“What?” Janine was startled to hear that Skylar’s new boyfriend was incomparable to Christopher. 

“Mom, you misunderstood. I meant Christopher can’t compare to him. You’ll understand after meeting him,” Steven said.
