Chapter 689
Had something happened to Skylar?
Jenny thought of how Skylar had yet to reply to her message and how Joe wasn’t picking up. Paul even asked her to call emergency services. Considering all those factors, something had probably happened to Skylar.
“Had I heard it wrongly?”
When one had a fever, one’s hearing would decline. Jenny thought she might have been mistaken.
However, if something had happened to Skylar….
Jenny’s heart began racing. She said, “If… If something happened to Skylar… Perhaps she wouldn’t be saved if it was a serious accident.”
Jenny bit her lip. Her heart rate quickened even further. She had to confirm whether something had happened to Skylar.
She called Howard multiple times. However, he didn’t pick up.
Jenny could confirm that something had happened to Skylar.
Half an hour later, the tightly locked door for the warehouse was sawed open.
A few men ran in. When they saw the cameras and lights, their expression changed.
Skylar heard them come in. Her eyes were unfocused as she turned to look at them. Although her vision was blurry, she identified one of the men.
“Joe, you’ve finally come, sighed Skylar weakly.
Joe was horrified by the blood streaking down Skylar’s face. He looked at the men surrounding her. They were hurt as well.
All of them wore nothing more than underwear. Their wounds looked terrifying.
Aiken was dumbfounded. He stared at Skylar incredulously. She…
Blood coated her head and her face. Her clothes had also been tugged out of shape. Immediately after speaking, she fainted.
She wasn’t holding a knife. It was only a rusted metal piece.
When it fell out of her hand, it revealed the wound across her palm. Her entire palm

was bloody. While using it to fight back, shed managed to harm them. However, she also hurt herself in the process.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
