Chapter 740
When Skylar got back to her room, she dug out their marriage contract. She’d never gone through it in detail. Joe must’ve considered various possibilities and outcomes while drafting the contract.
Now that Skylar had read through the contract, she realized that Joe had buried a hope that his first love would return to his side.
He would terminate the contract and compensate Skylar for it. She couldn’t find fault in it, nor was she looking for any pholes.
She thought Joe would be terminating the contract early, so Skylar took the contract out so she could pass it on to him when the time came.
Their divorce would probably happen in the next few days.
Around 9:00 pm, Skylar took a shower and got ready for bed.
Suddenly, Joe arrived home, reeking of alcohol. He gazed at Skylar deeply, albeit a little out of focus. As he walked into the bathroom for a shower, he said to Skylar, “Wait for me.”
Skylar did exactly that.
A day was enough for her to prepare herself mentally.
Their divorce didn’t warrant any complicated procedures. They merely needed to go to the courthouse to have it officiated.
Joe showered quickly. He came out after ten minutes. He’d taken his suit off. He only had a towel around his waist now.
Desire glinted in his dark eyes as he stared at Skylar.
However, Skylar wasn’t looking at him. She was engrossed with her phone.
He got into bed and leaned over. Skylar could feel his damp skin and smell his body wash. She asked, “What are you looking at?” a
“Nothing much,” replied Skylar. She put her phone away.
She had been looking at an entertainment news article. A street photographer had taken a video of Joe and Vera. Due to how gorgeous they both were, the
picture was making its rounds online.
Many online users had been astounded by their looks. They commented that other celebrities would be pushed aside if they debuted together.
They echoed what the cab driver had said the previous day–they were a well- matched couple in a passionate relationship. It was a great love story that regular people could only dream about.
A few talent scouts had commented on the photographer’s post asking for Joe and Vera’s contact details.
The online community wasn’t the only one astounded by what they saw, Skylar
was too.
Joe put an arm around Skylar’s waist. As he was about to kiss her, Skylar ducked away.
Skylar was rather confused as she stared at Joe. She asked, “Don’t you have anything to say?”
“Do I?” Joe raised an eyebrow. How come he had no idea?

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
