Chapter 752
With just one word from Joe, their lives could be snuffed out. Peter and Samuel froze, their bodies rigid with fear. They couldn’t compréhend how Skylar had managed to completely win over Joe’s heart.
Skylar walked up to Joe. Seeing someone get slapped in front of him wasn’t new–he had seen it all before.
“Does your hand hurt?” Joe asked softly, his concern for Skylar clear in his voice.
Skylar glanced at her slightly reddened palm. It still stung from the force of the slaps she’d delivered.
“Mr. Martin…” Peter stammered, his voice filled with desperation.
Regaining his composure, he ignored the throbbing pain on his swollen face and pleaded urgently, “Mr. Martin, my mom’s condition is critical. This hospital can’t provide the care she needs. Given that she’s Skylar’s biological mother, please, help us. It’s a small favor for someone like you.”
Meanwhile, Samuel remained silent before Joe. Despite the thoughts racing through his mind, he dared not utter a single word in Joe’s presence.
Sadie groaned in pain. “It hurts… It hurts so much… I’m in so much pain. It’s unbearable, I don’t know how much longer I can live. Skye, I’m your mother. Mr. Martin, please have mercy and save me.”
She was terrified of dying, and the doctors here were all incompetent, telling her she was close to death.
She couldn’t accept it. She wouldn’t die.
Seeing that Skylar was fine, Joe turned his attention to Sadie and her sons.
The three of them looked hopeful as Joe glanced their way.
But he merely gave them a brief look before taking Skylar’s hand and walking away.
They were stunned–too shocked to react.
“They left? Just like that? What’s going on?” Samuel finally snapped out of
Peter took a deep breath, his frustration boiling over. He stormed back to the bedside. Unable to contain his anger, he slapped Sadie several times, venting his frustration.
“Didn’t you say you were sure you could get Skylar to help us? I heard everything outside. You completely lost your cool. Are you doing this on purpose? Are you trying to get back at us? Do you have any idea how hard things are for me right now?”
“It’s all because of you, Mom! You’ve dragged us down and made us lose all hope. Are you even our mother? Has your mind completely gone off the rails? This is all your fault!” Samuel shouted, barely containing his rage.
Thankfully, Samuel managed to stop himself from hitting Sadie.
The other patients in the ward stared in shock.
One of them finally reacted, his voice trembling. “That woman… Your mother, she’s coughed up blood and died! You’ve beaten her to death…”
“Murder! Murder!” The others echoed in horror.
Peter had slapped Sadie so hard that it shocked everyone.
Peter stood frozen, his face ashen. He stared at Sadie, his movements
slow and deliberate.
The sight made him stagger back, dropping to the ground.
Blood streamed from Sadie’s mouth and nose, her eyes wide and bulging as if they were about to pop out.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
