“It was nothing much. What man hasn’t had a few injuries? If you haven’t broken a bone twice, you’re not a real man. Compared to me, his injuries are minor,” Caleb said with a slight lift of his chin, boasting a bit.
He wasn’t happy seeing Skylar complimenting someone else. He had made a lot of progress recently too.
Skylar could see Caleb’s thoughts and managed a smile.
She said, “You’re right. You’re the bravest young man I’ve ever met, and you’re also very eager to learn. When you need to be steady, you can definitely hold your ground.”
“That’s right!”
From that moment on, Caleb worked energetically for the rest of the day as if he had been given a boost of adrenaline. His proactive attitude astonished many of his colleagues.
Later, Alexander discreetly asked Skylar during a break, “Did something go wrong with him today?”
Caleb had always found ways to slack off, but today, he was unusually diligent and eager–unlike his usual
self.
Skylar laughed. “Maybe he’s just grown up.”
Alexander nodded thoughtfully.
When a man said he was grown up, he could change overnight. His attitude toward things could shift dramatically.
Alexander felt a pang of sadness as he thought about how Caleb had finally matured.
Half an hour before the end of the workday, Gloria called Skylar. She asked her to come to the Pearlhall
Residence after work.
Concerned about Gloria’s health, Skylar went straight to the Pearlhall Residence after finishing work.
When she arrived, she saw Joe was also there.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
