Valencia shivered in fear. She glanced back at Jimmy and Keith. 

“We’re taking Wendy with us. You can’t stop us from taking her. She’s got nothing to do with you. This hospital is outrageously expensive, and we don’t have the money to pay for her stay,” Valencia said. She swallowed her fear as she pointed at Wendy. 

Wendy’s face turned ashen. If she left with them, it would be the end for her. But she knew her family all too well and couldn’t let them drag Simona down with her. 

Just as she felt she had no choice but to leave with them, Skylar said coldly, “The police have already opened an investigation. The costs of her hospital stay will be covered by the suspects and their families.” 

Wendy immediately snapped back to her senses. “I can’t go with you. I need to seek justice for myself.” 

“Justice? What justice? You’ve already been raped. Do you want to make it public and humiliate yourself further? The most important thing now is to get compensation. Isn’t that what you want?” Valencia seethed, her teeth grinding. 

All these years, she felt like she had raised nothing but a burden. 

“This is our family matter. How we handle it is none of your concern. You can sue us all you want, but stay out of our business,” Keith added, avoiding Joe’a gaze. His words were directed at Skylar and Simona 

Their shamelessness was enough to shock anyone’s sense of morality. 

Wendy tightly gripped Simona’s hand, biting her lips hard. She knew that no one was going to help her. Throughout her life, she had never received help from anyone.
