Chapter 898
“Is Aiken the reason you wanted to divorce me?” Joe sounded very cold.
If it had been anyone else, he might’ve let her go. Out of all the men available, it had to be Aiken. He wasn’t suited for Skylar. However, envisioning Skylar with anyone else made him feel uncomfortable.
Skylar hadn’t thought that a simple dinner would cause multiple misunderstandings. When Joe misunderstood her the last time, she’d been very clear
Would he only divorce her if she was the one who’d made a mistake?
She clenched her jaw and hissed, “Joe, if you want to divorce me, you can just tell me. I’ve never thought of clinging onto you. There’s no need to blame me for things I’ve never done!”
Yesterday, he’d said he wanted to make a baby with her. In the blink of an eye, he framed her for nothing. Men never said anything worth believing in!
Joe stepped on the brakes. Their sudden halt caught the car behind them in surprise. They braked hurriedly and horned at them to express his fury.
Skylar was displeased.
Joe turned the steering wheel and parked the car by the road. A tense silence fell over them.
“When have I said I wanted to divorce you?” Joe calmed down and asked.
Skylar paused. He’d never asked for a divorce. He said that she was the one who wanted a divorce. Had they misunderstood each other?
“I thought you wanted to divorce me,” Skylar concluded. (1
He didn’t love her. They were still together because of Gloria and a few coincidences. If not for those coincidences, they wouldn’t have slept with each other
Clearly, Joe didn’t love her. Skylar believed that their play–pretend marriage was coming to an end
because of Vera’s return.
Joe paused too.
The tense situation was immediately diffused.
Joe smiled and said, “I’ve never thought of divorcing you.”
“Aiken and I are nothing more than friends,” explained Skylar.
They looked at each other. Suddenly, their earlier actions seemed a little childish It was all a misunderstanding.
“Let’s go for dinner. I’m still hungry,” Joe said cheerily. He started the car again.
“We should go for fondue.” Skylar also felt hungry. She couldn’t eat in the restaurant just now. Everything felt rubbery and tasteless.
The next morning, they both got up late.
After having fondue, Joe fucked Skylar in the shower.
Then, he felt like it wasn’t enough. They went for two more rounds in the bedroom. Joe would’ve continued if it hadn’t already been one o’clock in the morning.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
