Chapter 915
It was Monday morning. The rush hour was in full swing, and traffic was exceptionally heavy. The car barely moved.
Skylar had no choice but to pull over into a roadside parking spot. Deciding she’d get to work faster another way, she hopped out and headed for the subway. Fortunately, the subway wasn’t as congested, though still crowded.
The gridlock wasn’t just on the streets–it was underground too.
Joe sent her a photo of the traffic jam with a message that read, “Stuck in traffic.”
Skylar replied, “Same here. I parked the car by the roadside and took the subway. I think I made the right
choice.”
She might have been stuck for another hour if she had stayed on the road.
As the subway got busier, Skylar put her phone away and held on, waiting for her stop–there were just three more to go.
In about ten minutes, she emerged from the station with 15 minutes to spare before clocking in. After crossing the street, she calmly walked toward the Gardner Group building.
In the group chat, everyone discussed the traffic. Someone mentioned an accident on one of the main roads.
The road they were talking about was the one she took daily.
She was about to snap a photo of the office to share when someone stepped in front of her camera.
Skylar stared at the screen, momentarily thrown off. She wondered whether she had mistaken the person for someone else or if they simply looked alike.
“Skylar, long time no see.”
It was Christopher, and his eyes were deep and filled with emotion as he looked at her. It was as if he were gazing at a precious treasure he had just found again; it was an intense, loving gaze. He appeared not to want to miss a single moment.
Skylar put away her phone, unsure what to feel. She hadn’t seen him in months and had convinced herself they wouldn’t cross paths again. Yet here he was, standing right in front of her.
Seeing that Skylar wasn’t responding, Christopher’s eyes grew misty with emotion. “I’ve spent the past few months back in our hometown. I visited our old school, Seeing the students there brought back so many memories of us.
“I’ll never be able to like anyone else in this lifetime, Skylar. I’ve come to understand and realize my mistakes. I truly mean it. Every word I’m saying is from the heart.”
He sounded desperate, and his eyes were wet with unshed tears.
Every word rang true. Over the past few months, Skylar was all he could think about whenever he had a mornent to himself.
“Even my mom realizes how wrong she was. She knows she treated you poorly and regrets everything. She said, if given the chance, she would make it right. We can’t lose you.”
Seeing Skylar’s impassive expression, he was so anxious that he moved closer, almost ready to embrace her.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
