Chapter 920
The front door was abruptly kicked open.
“It’s unlocked. The lock’s broken,” the locksmith barely finished before a figure barged in.
Joe’s eyes locked on Christopher, who stood completely naked. Joe visibly shook with anger. His gaze then darted to Skylar, lying beneath Christopher. Her hair was disheveled, her face pale, but at least she was still clothed.
“You’re looking for a beating!” Joe roared. He charged forward, landing a punch squarely on Christopher’s stunned face, sending him tumbling off the bed.
The moment Skylar saw Joe, she lost her remaining strength and fell into unconsciousness. Joe’s hands were trembling as he carefully removed his own clothes and draped them on Skylar. He then stepped forward, lifting her gently into his arms.
Christopher, still reeling from the punch, was left dazed. “How… How did you find us so quickly? Skylar is my girlfriend. She’s mine. You can’t just take her away. Impossible… How could this happen…”
Joe’s hands shook as he held Skylar tightly. His eyes were cold and filled with fury as he instructed Paul outside the door, “Send him to the police station. Make sure to hand over all the evidence of him trafficking others to the authorities,” Joe ordered.
Upon hearing his words, Christopher’s face turned pale. He suddenly snapped back to reality. He said, You can’t send me to the police station. Skylar came to me willingly. You can’t force her to leave with you. She knew about your relationship with Vera and was disheartened. That’s why she reached out to me.
“Look, she even took that drug to please me and make sure I was satisfied. If you hadn’t interrupted us, we would have already been enjoying ourselves.”
Christopher wasn’t foolish. He knew he had to say something to stir up trouble between Skylar and Joe. He hoped Joe would misunderstand the situation and believe he and Skylar were involved.
As the people at the door moved closer, Christopher scrambled to gather his scattered clothes.
Paul had already walked over and lifted his foot, aiming a kick at him. “You’re as disgusting as what just came out of your mouth.”
Others who had followed Paul in also began kicking Christopher. Christopher writhed on the ground, clutching his head.
This time, he wasn’t afraid. After all, he had the Ruell family backing him.
Across the street in a high–rise office building, Vera watched as Joe left with Skylar. She also saw Christopher being taken away by the police.
She realized that Christopher had made a mess of things.
“Useless!” Vera fumed.
He had been with Skylar since high school, yet he couldn’t even keep her by his side. He had to drug her just to take her away.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
