Chapter 923
After finishing her IV drip, Skylar left the hospital. The drugs had already been metabolized, and she only needed to go home and rest.
Joe dropped her off at Galaxy Villa before leaving for an urgent matter. Skylar decided to take a bath to relax. Once finished, she noticed food had been delivered from Pearlhall Residence. She ate quietly, then returned to bed, but sleep evaded her. Her mind was restless.
She picked up her phone and casually scrolled through messages. She then replied to Caleb and her colleagues who had checked in on her.
Soon, fatigue began to overtake her, and she drifted into a troubled sleep.
In that half–dream, half–wake state, she seemed to slip back into a dark, hopeless past. Paralyzed and bedridden, she was despised by everyone around her and forced to take life–destroying medication. Faces from her past–Sadie, Jeffrey, Maisy, and Christopher–flashed before her.
“Why are you still alive? Why haven’t you died already? Lying in bed every day, making people take care of you.”
“Skylar, seeing you like this disgusts me. Just thinking about you being my girlfriend makes me want to strangle you.”
“Your boyfriend is so in love with me that he’d kill you himself if it meant being with me. As for your parents and siblings, they only care about me. Even though you’re their biological daughter and sister, what does that matter? You can’t compare to me.”
Skylar tried to wake up from the horrific dream, but she couldn’t. The feeling of helplessness was overwhelming as if she were truly trapped in a desperate situation. It was as if everything around her was a cruel illusion.
“Christopher, are you out of your mind? Let me go. Kenny and the others won’t let you get away with this.” The more Maisy struggled, the tighter Christopher bound her. “You lied to me. Didn’t you say you liked me? That you’d marry me? Didn’t you say that after Skylar died, you’d marry me and help me take everything from the Williams family?”
“Dream on! How could I ever marry you? You’re not worthy. Let me go right now. The Williams family isn’t someone you can just offer. Once Skylar is dead, you’re of no use to me. Did you really think I liked you?”
“You lied to me. You actually lied to me. I hurt Skylar so much for you, and you were just deceiving me.”
With one cut after another, Christopher hacked at Maisy with a kitchen knife. Her lifeless body lay in a pool of blood, having been brutally attacked.
The scene shifted abruptly.
The Williams Group went bankrupt, and Jeffery faced relentless debt collectors. He desperately sought a meeting with Joe at the Martin Group but was turned away each time.
Gloria told Jeffrey, “You promised to take good care of Skye. I thought you were her biological parents and would look after her well. I never expected Skye to die so tragically, with hardly a good spot left on her body. If you want our help, you’ll have to bring Skye back to life.”
Jeffrey deeply regretted his actions. He realized that the reason the Martin Group had helped them through their previous difficulties was because of Skylar.
He was forced into a corner and ended up killing Sadie to commit insurance fraud, but the insurance

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
