Chapter 952
Skylar hadn’t expected Minerva to be so direct with her.
She had suspected Minerva might be pregnant when she saw her dry- heaving in the restaurant earlier. Knowing how perceptive Skylar was, Minerva figured she had already guessed her situation when she first started dry–heaving in the restaurant,
Minerva smiled and said, “I’ve scheduled for an abortion a few days from now. The discomfort I’ve been experiencing over the past month or two is likely due to the pregnancy.”
“Are you sure about this?” Skylar could see the hesitation in Minerva’s
eyes.
If Minerva were truly indifferent to the baby, she wouldn’t have shown such visible struggle and doubt when talking about the abortion.
Minerva nodded. “It’s better for the child not to be born into a family without a father. Also, I’m not prepared to be a single mother.”
She then added, “Can you keep this a secret?”
She didn’t want her family or the Jakeman family to know about her pregnancy. If the Jakemans found out, Rowan would be forced to marry her, even if he didn’t harbor any feelings for her.
If Rowan hadn’t been involved with someone else, Minerva might have considered a marriage of convenience–one where both parties benefited. However, Rowan and Jenny’s passionate relationship
made the situation unbearable.
Skylar understood and solemnly nodded. “Okay.”
After leaving Minerva’s home, Skylar went straight to Galaxy Villa. Joe
was home, and so was Howard, who was conducting a medical check -up on him.
Seeing Skylar return, Howard greeted her first. “Good evening, Mrs. Martin.”
Skylar nodded in response. “Hello, Dr. Grey.”
Joe looked up and said, “There’s a strawberry mille crepe cake over there. Try it and let me know if it’s good.”
“I bought it on my way here from a bakery trending in short videos,” Howard quickly added.
In truth, he had bought the cake for himself. He’d feared it would be sold out when he finished examining Joe. To his surprise, Joe, who usually didn’t care much for desserts, had asked for a slice of the cake he had waited an hour to buy.
Howard initially thought Joe’s sudden craving might be due to his recent injury and the dietary restrictions that followed, which caused him to want things he typically ignored. But now, he realized the cake was meant for Skylar.
Howard hadn’t expected Joe to dote on his wife so much after getting married. He was surprised to see Joe’s focus shift completely to Skylar the moment she walked in.
Skylar’s eyes lit up when she saw the cake. “I think I’ve heard of this bakery before, but the lines are always long. Thanks, I’ll give it a try.”
As she opened the box, the rich aroma of strawberry filled the air. The cake was clearly made with high–quality ingredients, and the slices were neatly packed.
She picked up a slice and took a small bite. Her eyes immediately squinted in delight. “It’s delicious.”
A wave of happiness washed over her. She had been a little hungry on

her way home, and finding such a treat waiting for her was a pleasant surprise.
After Joe finished his check–up, he walked over while getting dressed. “Is it really that good? Let me try.”
Skylar was about to get him a slice when he bent down and took a bite from the slice she was eating.
The gesture caught Howard off guard. It wasn’t just a casual act of affection–something deeper was behind it.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
