Genevieve clapped alongside the others. She walked over, smiled, and said, “You're such a pro, Paula. I pale so much in comparison.”
“Oh, you flatter me.” Paula looked pleased as she waved her hand.
Paula sat down on a rattan chair, picked up a cup of coffee, and took a sip. “I wasn't able to attend the grand opening of the Fantasy Film Festival since I was on a business trip at that time, but I've seen the opening performance. They made the right choice of picking you for the opening act. You're such a talented violinist. I'm not exaggerating when I say your music gave me goosebumps,” she praised.
Paula poked Genevieve as she spoke. “Genevieve, you are a talented gal. I think you even overshadow Marilyn, who is a rare talent in the music industry.”
“Oh, you're too kind. I'm just an outsider.” Genevieve flashed her a faint smile.
Paula gave her a look and suddenly broke into a smile. “You played that song for Bruce, right?”
Genevieve was caught off guard upon hearing that.
Paula leaned back into the chair. “Everyone in the entertainment industry knows about Bruce's case. I'm really into music as well. But Ms. Rachford...”
She paused for a moment before continuing, “The entertainment industry is all kinds of filthy, and he's no exception. There are people worse than him out there. He's good-looking, and it's fine if you're not looking for anything serious with him. Just don't invest too many feelings into this relationship.”
Paula liked Genevieve a lot.
Not only was she pretty and talented, but she was also the younger sister of Cooper from Specter Corporation and Armand's ex-wife.
The subsidiaries of Central Group had worked closely with Exuberance Group in the past when Armand was still around. Moreover, Marlon and Armand were close friends.
Paula couldn't help but exhort Genevieve even though she didn't like being nosy.
Upon hearing Paula's words, Genevieve swallowed her coffee abruptly, causing her to choke and eliciting a string of coughs. “You've misunderstood. I don't have feelings for him. Nor do I want to fool around with him.”
“Plus, I got remarried,” she added.
“I'm just worried he'll win you over someday with how well he's been treating you from time to time.” Paula's statement hit the nail right on the head. “I know these artists all too well.”
