Chapter 36 Underestimating The General
The project management department in Centurion Corporation was in a mess due to the number of companies that had come for the tender.
When Christopher arrived, he spotted a long line of people surrounding the office. Naturally, the other people who had come to register were all dressed to the nines in a suit and tie while Christopher was dressed in an old camouflage suit.
“What’s up with this company? How could they send someone so embarrassing to hand in a proposal? This is Centurion Corporation, for Christ’s sake!”
“He’s probably some contractor. Maybe we should pity him instead!”
Everyone else began to mock and scoff at Christopher, who remained expressionless. After all, none of them even had a chance.
About an hour later, it was finally Christopher’s turn. Without any hesitation, he walked straight into Daniel’s office.
He was sitting in front of his desk, lazily chatting to his lover. He couldn’t even be bothered to look at who it was since there had already been so many people.
Christopher placed the proposal on the table and said in a low voice, “Good afternoon. I’m Christopher Yaeger from Julianna Corporation, and this is our proposal.”
Daniel was prepared not to entertain Christopher, but when he heard the name ‘Julianna Corporation’, he immediately thought about the Murrays’ land at Dragon Valley and the plan he had with Jared.
He looked up and scoffed at Christopher’s appearance. “So you’re the one who dared to go head to head with Mr. Cordrington?”
Christopher already knew about Daniel and Jared’s plan and simply replied coldly, “I’m just here to hand in the proposal.”
“So you think someone like you would be selected by us?” Daniel said in disdain, feeling almost humiliated.
“Please take a good look at it before you regret your decision,” Christopher said coldly. That set Daniel off and he said angrily, “What the hell? Do you think I don’t know who you are? You’re just the Murrays’ son-in-law. All you are is a sad little veteran. What would I even regret? I’d regret not slapping you in the face! Who gives a sh*t about your stupid proposal?”
Daniel picked up the documents and tossed them into the rubbish bin before yelling, “You never had a f*cking chance! Screw off! You’re contaminating the da*n air here, you piece of shit!”
Christopher had been lazy to argue with someone like Daniel, but his words managed to piss Christopher off. He turned abruptly and stared at Daniel as he said coldly, “What did you just say?”
At that very moment, Christopher’s aura was radiating off of him in bloodthirsty waves. His sheer murderous glare was enough to cause the temperature in the office to drop. Daniel suddenly felt chills racking his body under Christopher’s glare and he shivered as if he had been thrown into a cellar, having gone completely silent.
After all, Christopher was the general of Draco Battalion. The wrath of Chanaea’s greatest general wasn’t something that Daniel could ever withstand.
Christopher’s anger was enough to spill gallons of blood.
Sadly, Daniel wasn’t important enough for Christopher to even lift his hand.
If he had, then that man would no longer be sitting calmly. He would already have been killed.
“You’d better know your place.”
After that, Christopher turned to leave. Daniel’s back had been soaked in cold sweat and his legs were shaking so badly that he couldn’t stand up. After Christopher started walking out, he finally came to his senses and yelled in embarrassment, “How dare you threaten me? Just wait and see what Mr. Cordrington has in store for you!”
After Christopher left Daniel’s office, he called Amanda. She picked up and hurriedly asked, “Is something wrong, Mr. Yaeger?”
“Well, Daniel just threw my proposal into the rubbish bin,” Christopher said calmly.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Yaeger. Everything is under control,” Amanda said. She couldn’t help but scoff. Not only did Daniel dare to accept bribery, he even threw his own boss’ proposal into the garbage. He is done for!
