Chapter 72 The Influential Malcolm Kirk
Just when everyone thought Christopher was intimidated, they heard a loud smack.
Christopher had slapped Pierce on the face, and the smack resounded clearly throughout the enclosed space.
Pierce’s arrogant and contemptuous look remained, but what caught people’s eyes was the red hand-shaped mark on his cheek.
Immediately, the crowd dropped their jaws to the ground. They could not believe what had just happened before their eyes. What the heck? Did that crazy b*stard just hit Malcolm’s son?
It was only when Pierce felt the pain on his cheek that he returned to his senses. “How dare you hit me! How dare you put your filthy hand on me!” roared Pierce as his blood boiled with anger.
Tyler could not help chuckling bitterly when he heard that, as he had had the same thought just a few minutes ago. He did not expect a nobody like Christopher to have the audacity to slap a Jadeborough elite like him.
The humiliation almost drove Tyler mad. But after seeing Christopher do the same thing to Pierce, he began wondering if Christopher was just a lunatic. Who in the right mind would do such a thing? This guy must have a death wish or something. Maybe he didn’t realize it, but he’s on Pierce’s turf! He must be out of his mind if he thinks Pierce’s going to let him ruin Sky Dragon Bar.
“I couldn’t help myself. So are you going to get your father now?” inquired Christopher with a smile.
“Do you have any idea who he is?” Pierce covered his reddened cheek and looked daggers at Christopher.
“Malcolm Kirk, right? Your people have been telling me that since I walked in. You can go to him now; I’ll be waiting right here.” Christopher continued to smile at Pierce, seemingly unafraid of what the man would do next.
“Aren’t you scared?” Pierce refused to believe that Christopher was unfazed by his father’s power. Unless he’s a madman, he should be shaking in his boots.
Still, Christopher simply responded by shrugging nonchalantly.
“We’ll see how long you can keep the act up!”
Gritting his teeth, Pierce took out his phone and was ready to call Malcolm. However, the man noticed that the device had no signal, so he hurriedly turned and went elsewhere with better reception to make the phone call.
Suddenly, everyone at the scene heard the clomping of a pair of leather shoes, and none was more excited than Pierce, who recognized the sound almost immediately.
“Dad! Dad, I’m here!” Pierce was so relieved that he could cry. He had never been humiliated like that before.
It was only after hearing Pierce that the crowd realized Malcolm had arrived at the scene. They quickly shifted their attention to the powerful man.
Christopher, too, turned to look at Malcolm. Even though the elderly man was in his fifties and had a head full of gray hair, his eyes remained intimidating. The way he walked in his leather shoes made it sound as though he was stepping on his enemy’s skull on the pavement.
At that moment, none of the men dared to say a word. Although they hung out with Pierce, they had every reason to fear Malcolm.
Even Tyler, a businessman with a net worth of hundreds of millions, could not help but tremble in Malcolm’s presence.
“Dad, this hillbilly hit me. He slapped me with his filthy hand,” complained Pierce, who had complete faith that Malcolm, the most influential man in Golden Peace, could give him justice. Even the President himself would have to pay respects to his father.
Instead of looking at his son, Malcolm continued to walk inside with his leather shoes still making the intimidating sound. Pierce’s heart raced in excitement as he gazed at his father, the man he had always wanted to be.
As for the other men, they had their eyes fixed on Christopher, convinced that the man was done for.
Amos and Lulu exchanged glances before breaking into a grin. He just hit Malcolm’s son. Even if he doesn’t end up a dead man, he’ll be a disabled one.
Everyone waited to see how Malcolm would lose his temper as he got closer and closer to Christopher. Except for the man’s footsteps, all everybody could hear was each other’s breathing. The dead silence at the scene was like the calm before the storm.
When Malcolm finally reached Christopher, Pierce, Amos, Lulu, and the others were ready to see how miserable Christopher would become.
“I’m sorry for what my son did to you, Mr. Yaeger. Let me apologize to you on his behalf.”
