My Four Miraculous Treasures novel Chapter 328

Willow pouted with displeasure. If she informed her mother that she’d returned the company car, she’d probably get the scolding of her life.

It could wait a couple of days. It wasn’t urgent information.

After she’d finished eating, Willow headed out once more, and made her way to the hospital where Samantha had been admitted to.

Going by memory, she made her way through the inpatient ward to her cousin’s room.

As she walked down one of those corridors, a man strode out from another room. There were bandages wound around his waist and leg, and he was leaning on a crutch.

At first, Willow paid him no heed, diverting her course to go around him. However, the man moved into her path, his towering frame obstructing the way. With a pained voice, the man said, “Ah, it’s you, Willow… here to visit your daddy?”

These words struck her, somewhere deep within her heart. Lifting her gaze sharply, she took a closer look, and realized that the man before her was none other than George Lane!

Instantly going on high alert, she coldly replied, “Don’t be ridiculous. I have no father!”

With that, she stepped around him to pass him by. However, George hobbled forward and caught hold of her wrist. “It’s all my fault, Willow! If I’d known that your mother hadn’t gotten an abortion… that she’d decided to actually give birth to you instead… I’d have done my duty as a father: raised you, cared for you, provided for you… But your mother lied to me! She told me that she’d performed the surgery, gotten rid of you…”

His voice was heavy with guilt and regret. When he looked upon Willow, his eyes radiated fatherly affection.

Hearing those words… seeing that expression… Willow’s implacable resolve suddenly wavered, her ice-cold heart thawing abruptly, without warning…
