My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2249

"As soon as I answered the call, they pressured me to give up the recipes for our desserts. Oh Yesseca! I'm such an idiot! I'm such a fool! I shouldn't have answered their phone call, then none of this would have happened! Why couldn't I see what they were doing?!"

The more she talked, the more manic she became. She then took out her phone and was about to toss it away.

Yesseca quickly stopped Preslie.

Preslie then said with her cheeks red, "Don't stop me Yesseca. I'm going to throw this phone away. Once I do, they won't be able to call me anymore and I won't have to answer them ever again!"

"Look, they may not be able to contact you, but what about me? What should I do if I want to contact you? And there will be several customers looking to call you too. What should I do then?"

Preslie held her breath. After a while, she said, "Then I'll buy another mobile phone and change my number!"

"Oh Preslie." Yesseca said softly, "It's not worth throwing away your phone because of them. Furthermore, if your family really wants to find you, even if you change your phone, they'll still be able to find your new number eventually. What then? Are you going to throw your phone away and buy another one?"

Preslie was quiet.

She had no idea what to say to that.

Yesseca fixed her gaze on her and said, "Preslie, if you really want to move on from your family, then you'll need to see through their dirty tactics and remain unmoved from then. Then, no matter what they say to you or whenever they call you, you'll remain strong and unbothered."

"You are still so shaken by them right now, which proves you haven't gotten over them."

Preslie was stunned from Yesseca's observation.

After a while, she said quietly, "Yesseca, I understand what you're saying."

She then placed the mobile phone back into her pocket and then took a deep breath. "I won't throw my mobile phone away. It's not worth it. They'll just call me again and at that time, I won't answer. Why throw away a perfectly good mobile phone? I won't do that!"

"That's more like it." Yesseca patted her shoulders. "Forget about them. Focus on doing your best getting our shop's interior done. We'll be very busy soon."

Preslie raised up her fist and said, "Don't you worry Yesseca. I'll be stronger this time. Next time they come looking for a fight, I'll keep my cool and push them out!"
