Yesseca muttered to herself, "Strange. I don't feel warm at all."
It wasn't hot at all, in fact it was pretty cold.
As they were talking, they noticed Preslie approaching.
Preslie's face was also quite red.
There were also drops of water on her face.
Yesseca looked at her quietly.
She then asked, somewhat confused, "Preslie, where were you?"
Preslie replied dryly, "I went to wash my face. It's pretty hot here."
Yesseca quietly thought about what she said.
Looks like it was warm inside.
Both Sheldon and Preslie both were feeling really warm inside!
She then quickly said, "Then I'll go and turn on the air conditioning. You can keep Sheldon company in the meantime."
Having said that, Yesseca walked on into the storeroom.
Shortly after, the store was filled with cool air.
Yesseca found it to be quite cold.
She then told Sheldon and Preslie, "I'm feeling a little chilly and it's quite cold in here, so I'll just step outside for a bit."
After Yesseca had left, Preslie and Sheldon stared at each other in dismay. They both shivered next to each other.
It was almost autumn and the weather had gotten colder. With the air conditioning on, it would be freezing inside!
Despite that, neither of them dared to mention that they were feeling cold.
Because Preslie had just told Yesseca in front of Sheldon that she had gone to wash her face because she was feeling warm.
Because she didn't know what to say to him, Preslie said, "Mr. Hawls, it's pretty hot huh?"
Sheldon was actually feeling really cold right now, but despite that he stood up and said, "I'll go and adjust the temperature of the air conditioner then."
Preslie was quiet.
She opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say. She ultimately kept her mouth closed in the end.
Time slowly passed.
After a brief moment of silence, Sheldon said, "Preslie, are you feeling sad?"
Preslie laughed, "Not anymore."
Funny thing was, she had been miserable, until Sheldon arrived.
After he arrived and said a few things to her, she suddenly felt very warm and embarrassed.
"That's good." Sheldon breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Mr. Hawls" Preslie had plucked up the courage to speak. "Did you really mean what you said earlier? That even if a beautiful woman, like my sister Amelia, were to bully me, you'd still help me?"
Sheldon smiled and said, "Of course I will. Your sister isn't beautiful. You are."
Preslie was speechless.
Her face had turned red once again.
"Damm*t! Why do I have to bring this to myself again?" She scolded herself.
Just then, her face flushed deep red once again!
Afraid that Sheldon would notice it, Preslie quickly stood up and said, "Mr. Hawls, I feel a little warm now that the air conditioner has been switched off. I... I'm going to wash my face in the bathroom again."
