However, instead of agreeing to let Dory go to school, her pleading resulted in her being thrown into an abyss.
This sentence gave Aimeen an idea.
That's right!
Dory could make money now!
Although she was so young that no factory or labor intensive job would hire her, it was good to let her pick up rubbish.
Although she wouldn't earn much.
But if she picked rubbish for an entire day, she could get some money.
Though it wasn't much, money was still money.
Otherwise, what's the point of her taking care of Dory?
Right now, Yesseca was no longer giving Dory any money!
So Dory had to be useful and make money for Aimeen somehow!
So Aimeen said, "From the next day on, you will pick up rubbish for me!"
When Dory heard that, joy flashed across her eyes.
She thought that Aimeen had agreed to let her continue going to school, but the next sentence Aimeen said was, "Don't go to school. And I will take all the money you earn from picking up rubbish in the future."
Dory couldn't believe it.
She stared at Aimeen with her eyes wide open and raised her voice, "Why! Why can't I go to school? If I can pick up rubbish to buy stationeries and a school bag, why can't I go to school?"
Aimeen was angry that Dory raised her voice.
She felt that Dory was questioning her!
What right did this little girl have to question her!
Aimeen was furious and raised her hand to slap Dory!
"Whoosh!"
After a crisp sound, a bright red palm print appeared on Dory's face.
