My Husband Is A Gary Stu novel Chapter 1344

Chapter 1344 The Heartbreaking Struggle

The next morning, Armand and his companions took the children to a strawberry farm near the hot spring village.

Rows of strawberry greenhouses are situated near the highway and close to the hot spring holiday resort. Coupled with the large, juicy, and sweet strawberries, and the fact that it's the weekend, there are quite a few tourists coming to pick strawberries.

A few little ones each carried a small red basket, happily hopping and skipping into the greenhouse.

Amanda picked a huge strawberry, wiped it on her clothes, and then took it to Genevieve and the others.

Picking one here and there, running back and forth, like a busy little bee.

Armand was originally a bit of a neat freak.

Genevieve tends to let the children be more carefree, allowing them to do whatever they want, which leaves him feeling quite exasperated.

“Mando, don't make that face,” Genevieve couldn't stand seeing him so worried about the children's hygiene. “The boss already said the strawberries haven't been sprayed with any chemicals, so they're safe to eat even without washing.”

She handed the freshly picked strawberries to the man, “Try these, they're incredibly sweet.”

Armand, feeling helpless, lowered his head and ate the strawberry.

Genevieve licked the juice off her finger and looked up at him, asking, “How is it? Isn't it really sweet?”

“Mmm.” However, he felt that the strawberry was not as sweet as the taste on Genevieve's lips. In a deep voice, he said, “There's a strawberry cocktail that's really delicious. I'll make it for you when we go back.”

Caught off guard, Genevieve suddenly thought of that time with the cherry wine and playfully kicked him, exclaiming, “Old rascal!”

She also wanted to experience the joy of picking strawberries, so she found a greenhouse with fewer people. Whenever she saw a big, red strawberry, she would cut it off and place it in the small basket that Armand was carrying.

The two of them strolled through the sweet-scented strawberry fields, finding it quite delightful.

Armand asked Genevieve about Xenia.

Genevieve crouched down to look for strawberries while answering, “She wants to personally deal with Joshua's wife, but I haven't seen her make any moves lately. Maybe it takes time for Joshua's wife to have a mental breakdown.”

“After all, she's the kind of person who felt no guilt after killing her own son,” she added.

Armand pondered for a moment, “There's something that's not really related to Johanna, but I'm not sure if I should tell you.”

“What's the matter?” Genevieve looked up at him.

Armand said, “Xenia is Yorick's sister, but she was expelled from the Joule family by her father years ago because of Joshua's incident. Since then, she has never been in touch with her brother Yorick.”

Genevieve gasped, clearly shocked by the news, “Xenia is Johanna's... aunt?”

“Um.”

That day, when Armand requested information about Joshua's case from the court, he also had someone look into Xenia's background. Later, he learned about Xenia's connection to the Joule family.

Genevieve said, “When Leila mentioned her name, I thought she had the same last name as Jojo.”

However, I never expected this aspect.

Genevieve sneered, “She's been in Jadeborough all these years, so there's no way she doesn't know about Johanna's father going bankrupt from gambling. Even if she doesn't help her brother, she doesn't care about her brother's daughter at all, yet she worries every day for her lover who was wrongfully imprisoned.”

Genevieve knew that people were inherently selfish, and after all, it was the Joule family who had driven Xenia away in the first place.

But if Xenia had lent a hand back then, Johanna wouldn't have been thrown abroad by her own mother for several years, with no home to return to during the holidays.

However, Xenia is indeed exceptionally talented, and she is considered one of the top masters in the traditional gown industry.

While Genevieve and Armand were chatting, they had already walked around the greenhouse, picking a basketful of strawberries. The little ones also had quite a fruitful harvest.

Around eleven o'clock, the group returned to the hot spring holiday resort.

As soon as the car arrived at the holiday resort, Armand's phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and walked over to a corner by the flower bed to answer the call.
