Chapter 1396 What Right Do You Have To Dislike Him
After Camilla gloated over Charlotte's misfortune, she comforted her, “It's just a formal attire. Leave it. You still have time to ask someone bring another one over.”
Charlotte glanced at her coldly. “You're still refusing to admit it?”
“Charlotte, are you out of your mind?” Camilla's tone was no longer gentle. “I said I didn't do it. Why are you trying to pin the blame on me?”
“Fine. Let's find out who ruined the formal attire.”
Charlotte approached the bedside table and removed a green hidden camera from the colored glaze table lamp. The camera was aimed precisely at the bed.
Camilla looked at the object in Charlotte's hand with some surprise but showed no signs of guilt.
Charlotte showed everyone the hidden camera. “To prevent any accidents with the formal attire, I purposely placed a camera on the table lamp. Whoever admits to cutting the formal attire now, I'll have a nice talk with them. Otherwise, I won't tolerate it!”
Seeing that no one spoke up, Charlotte opened the app connected to the camera on her phone. After checking the surveillance footage, she looked at Kurt in disbelief.
Charlotte walked toward Kurt and showed him the replayed surveillance footage, which captured his outrageous act of cutting the clothes.
“I never thought you would put the blame on someone else.” She narrowed her eyes.
Now that there was surveillance footage, Kurt couldn't make any excuses. He decisively admitted, “Yes. I cut the clothing because he doesn't deserve to wear something so nice.”
Sitting in the chair, Jerry seemed indifferent to their quarrel, as if he hadn't heard a single word.
Charlotte resisted the urge to smash her phone on Kurt's head and growled, “This is a custom-made outfit I had someone make for me. Whether he's worthy of wearing it or not, what does it have to do with you, the stylist? I'm paying you to style him, not to criticize him! He's a global ambassador for top luxury brands, and the business world sings his praises. What right do you have to dislike him?”
As Charlotte had always been sharp-tongued and good at talking back, she made Kurt speechless with her retorts.
Kurt quickly changed the subject, mocking Charlotte's poor taste. “Compared to Jibson or any of your other exes, he's far behind. How are you attracted to him? His name also has a 'J' in it. Is he Jibson's substitute since you can't see him?”
If Jerry weren't here, it would be better for Charlotte. However, he was sitting at his desk several meters away while Kurt destroyed the gift she had prepared for Jerry and called him a substitute.
At this moment, Charlotte was even more furious than when she found out the formal attire had been ruined.
She didn't care about being elegant, took off her high heels, and fiercely threw them at Kurt's head. Her ruthless attack left Kurt curled up on the ground, clutching his head and wailing in pain.
After crying out, Kurt added fuel to the fire by saying, “Lottie, would you be so angry if what I said was wrong?”
“Nonsense!” Charlotte kicked him fiercely. She glanced at the desk, where Jerry stood with his arms crossed, staring out the window, utterly uninterested in the argument.
His flawless jawline was like a sharp knife, exuding a glint of coldness.
Charlotte's heart suddenly skipped a beat, and she could sense Jerry seemed angry. Not only him, but she was also quite annoyed. Without hesitation, she took out her phone to call the police, intending to report Kurt for damaging other people's property.
She dialed 911 when a calm, pleasant male voice came from the doorway. “What's wrong, Lottie? Why are you so mad?”
Charlotte stopped making the call. Her gaze was fixated on Jibson.
He arrived as soon as the incident happened, so Charlotte could guess what was happening.
Charlotte kicked Kurt again and said coldly, “He deliberately ruined the formal attire I prepared for the actor.”
Upon hearing this, Jibson laughed nonchalantly. “You know how fashion designers love to modify clothes, and it's common for them to accidentally damage them in the process. I brought three sets of formal attire with me, and since our body sizes are pretty similar, I'll give him all of them as an apology.”
Charlotte replied expressionlessly, “Models are also part of the entertainment industry, and in terms of fame, he's way above you. He's proud and won't wear someone else's formal attire.”
“Lottie, are you speaking up for him?” Jibson approached and looked down at her. “Is he your current boyfriend?”
