Chapter 112
Once Clark thought of the content of the voice recorder, he retorted in a deep voice, “Mr. Bradley, did you see it with your own eyes? Did you hear Madam’s confession with your own ears? If that video could be fabricated, then why couldn’t the video of Madam removing Mr. Thomas’ oxygen mask be fabricated?”
“Clark, why do you believe her so much?” Bradley could not understand why his grandfather believed her after everything had happened. Clark believed her too. When everyone in the world was condemning and berating her, they still firmly believed in her.
“Because she’s worthy of our trust,” said Clark. His voice slowed down, earnestly pleading,” Mr. Bradley, please allow me to reinvestigate the truth from five years ago.”
Bradley coldly replied, “Do as you wish.”
Clark thought of the recording again and wondered what if the investigation revealed a connection to Liliane. By that time, Bradley would have already married her, and the investigation would be in vain.
“Mr. Bradley, give me three months. I’ll investigate the truth,” Clark stated firmly and seriously. “But during these three months, you and Ms. Anstey cannot obtain a marriage
certificate or hold a wedding.”
Bradley raised an eyebrow coldly and asked, “Why?”
“Because I think you should give Madam a chance,” replied Clark.
Clark had watched Esther grow up, just like Thomas, and they both hoped that Esther and Bradley could live a happy and harmonious life together. Even if he found evidence after Liliane and Bradley were married, it would be of no use.
Felix subconsciously looked toward Bradley and saw his father’s deep, unfathomable eyes being fixed on Esther. There was a hint of aggressive fierceness in the depths of them.
Subconsciously, Felix clutched Esther’s hand, thinking, ‘Mommy, don’t be afraid! I’ll protect you. I’ll definitely protect you.’
“Fine.” Bradley agreed.
Clark could not help but wipe away the happy tears from the corner of his eyes, thinking that these three months were just temporarily holding Bradley and Liliane back. Once he received the results of the DNA maternity test, he would be able to confirm whether Felix was Esther’s child or Liliane’s child.
He did not reveal the truth for now because he did not want to startle anyone too early. Telling Bradley that Felix might be his and Esther’s child would only lead to uncontrollable developments without concrete evidence.
Clark sighed softly and asked, “Doctor, will she wake up?”
The psychologist shook her head. “I don’t know, but if someone’s willing to coax her, there may still be hope.”
Felix, Clark, and the psychologist all looked at Bradley simultaneously.
