My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 157

Chapter 157

Struggling to keep the nosebleed at bay, Bradley found himself unable to stop it. His reflection in the mirror showed the distressing sight of blood trickling from his nose.

Esther noticed his condition and rushed to his side, abandoning her task of changing clothes. She anxiously tried to wipe away the blood, unintentionally captivating Bradley with her allure, causing his nosebleed to worsen.

Brushing Esther aside, Bradley hurriedly made his way to the bathroom. Seeking relief, he splashed cold water on his face, attempting to regain composure. As he gazed at his reflection, he saw a restless soul, a lone wolf filled with dissatisfaction and inner turmoil.

Taking a seat on the toilet, he reached for his phone and messaged a friend overseas.

Bradley: [When will you be returning to the country?]

Kevin: [?]

Bradley: [! need to undergo a comprehensive medical examination.]

Kevin: [Why?]

Bradley: [Lately, my heart has been beating fast, and I’ve had two nosebleeds. I suspect it might be a heart condition or even leukemia.]

Kevin: […]

Kevin: [A fast heartbeat could be attributed to infatuation. But you, perpetually single, can’t possibly be infatuated with another woman!]

Kevin: [As for the nosebleeds, they could be a normal physiological reaction for a man. However… it seems like you’ve lost the joy of being a man ever since that accident five years ago!]

Kevin: [I’ll be back next week. I’ll arrange a full-body check-up for you then.]

Infuriated by his friend’s words, Bradley simply responded with a curt [F*ck off].

Five years ago, Esther had unknowingly given him something he should never have consumed, leading to an unforgettable night with Liliane and the subsequent existence of Felix..

Apart from Kevin Slade, no one else knew about Bradley’s declining health following that incident. He felt a deep disgust toward the female body and avoided any form of closeness with women. Living like a celibate monk, devoid of desire, became his way of existence.

This was a secret he couldn’t share with anyone. Besides Kevin, he didn’t want anyone else to know this side of him.

Initially, he believed Felix was his only child in this lifetime. Who could have anticipated that he also had twin daughters, Tinkerbell and Pixie?

The thought of Esther being the cause of it all ignited a surge of resentment in his eyes, akin to a beast. breaking free from its restraints.

Esther tapped gently outside the bathroom door and called out, “Darling, are you alright?”

Hearing Esther’s voice, Bradley forcefully swung open the bathroom door, his face dark and ruthless. He pulled her inside, dorninating her against the cold wall,

Esther looked at him fearfully, her eyes widening. Confronted with this version of Bradley, she stammered, “You… What’s gotten into you?”

Bradley brazenly examined Esther’s features, his once flawless face now adorned with a mischievous and wicked expression. He held her chin, savoring her reaction as she resembled a startled deer caught in headlights.
