My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 188

Chapter 188

Esther watched with concern as Bradley turned to leave, and she couldn’t help but ask, “Is everything okay? Take care of yourself.”

A cold and indifferent smile formed on Bradley’s lips as he replied, “There’s something at the company I need to attend to. I’ll be back later.”

Esther stood under the orange lights, her eyes filled with worry that flickered like shining

After Bradley entered the elevator, Esther washed her hands with Melinda’s help and sat at the dining table with Felix. They enjoyed a sumptuous dinner prepared by Melinda.

“Felix, it’s just Mommy now. Can you tell me secretly if you’re happy at kindergarten?” Esther had watched a surveillance video where Felix seemed out of place among the other children. He appeared reluctant to join in their games and interactions. Although the teacher had tried to encourage him, he would become isolated as soon as the teacher looked away. Felix insisted, “Mommy, I’m really, really super happy.”

Esther looked at her son, sensing his hesitation to express his true feelings. She asked in confusion, “Don’t you believe that Mommy will always stand by your side, no matter what?”

“It’s not that,” Felix confessed under Esther’s gentle and trusting gaze. “The other kids are too childish.”

“Childish?” Esther questioned, puzzled.

“Yeah, the books they read, the songs they sing, the games they play… they’re all so childish.” Felix continued eagerly. “And some of the other kids are so dumb. Even after the teacher explains it several times, they still can’t understand. It’s really simple!”

Esther gently explained, “Felix, everyone has different strengths. Some people are good at studying, while others are not. Maybe those other kids simply struggle with learning.”

With a cute expression, Felix asked, “Mommy, what am I good at?”

“I don’t know,” Esther replied honestly, “But we can explore together and discover what you’re good at.”

Suddenly, Felix excitedly snapped his fingers and said cutely, “Mommy, I know what I’m best at!”

“What is it?” Esther asked, curious.

“I’m best at loving Mommy!” Felix rushed over and hugged Esther, saying in a sweet and cute tone, “Mommy, I love you the most in the whole world!”

Esther looked at Felix and warmly embraced him, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. “1 love you the most too.”

Melinda, who observed this heartwarming scene, couldn’t help but think of her own son. She opened the photo album on her phone and looked at his pictures, staring at them for a while before finally sending him some money.

She made a resolution that once she settled in, she would apply for leave and take her son on a trip.
