Chapter 219
Esther’s heart sank, overwhelmed by a sense of despair. If even money couldn’t sway them, did it mean their situation was dire beyond imagination? Suppressing her panic, she forced herself to calm down and analyze the predicament, determined to protect Felix at all costs.
“My son is unconscious. Please, I beg you, don’t tie him up,” Esther pleaded, her voice filled. with desperation as tears welled up in her eyes.
The black-clad man, who had been about to use zip ties on Felix, hesitated at her words.
Esther continued, her voice pitiful and trembling. “Sir, don’t you have children of your own? Nephews or nieces? Please, understand the anguish of a parent. I implore you, don’t tie up my son. He just had a bone marrow transplant…”
Tears streamed down Esther’s face as she pleaded, “Please, I beg you. Don’t tie him. won’t try to escape.”
Felix, nestled in Esther’s arms, looked innocent and adorable, melting even the hearts of the ruthless men.
“Behave yourselves, and don’t force us to take action! Do you understand?” one of the kidnappers warned.
Esther nodded meekly, her voice hoarse as she replied, “I understand.”
The two men decided to keep Esther locked inside the operating room since it had only one exit. They stationed themselves at the door, confident that they could prevent any escape attempts.
Without her phone, Esther was unable to call for help. She surveyed the dimly lit operating room, which appeared ordinary except for the faint word “prison” written somewhere in the
room.
She searched for something she could use to cut or break the plastic zip ties but found nothing. Holding Felix, who remained unconscious, she felt a deep sense of worry and unease. Outside the operating room, the two kidnappers sat together, enjoying beer and snacks while watching the live broadcast of Bradley and Liliane’s wedding.
The wedding was being streamed globally through various online platforms, as Bradley had spared no expense in promoting and publicizing the event. The cumulative viewership had already exceeded 300,000,000.
The wedding venue was adorned with breathtaking decorations, resembling a fairytale setting. Amidst the mist, the venue’s doors slowly opened, capturing the attention of all present.
Liliane, wearing the ethereal wedding dress from Heaven that Esther had once tried on, walked gracefully with Shane, her arm linked with his, as they approached Bradley.
Inside the operating room, silence enveloped Esther as she heard the broadcast through the door, where the kidnappers were sitting. She realized that Bradley’s wedding had already commenced.
Holding Felix tightly, Esther mustered the strength to approach the door. In a gentle voice, she made a request, “I see you’re watching Bradley Warner’s wedding broadcast. Can I take a
look?”
The two men in black exchanged glances, and one of them replied angrily, “Why should you be allowed to watch? We’ve already shown you enough kindness. Don’t push your luck. Leave
