Chapter 366
Esther gently stroked Sunshine’s head. She then took a deep breath and gathered her courage to open the ward’s door.
The door opened gently, and Sunshine and Felix rushed into the room.
The boy on the only bed in the ward was about 13 years old. He looked toward the door and asked with curiosity, “Who are you looking for?”
Pixie looked around and asked softly and sweetly, “Where did Pixie, the girl who stayed here before, go?”
The boy replied blankly, “I don’t know.”
A wave of disappointment washed over Esther’s face.
“Were there no other people in this ward when you came?” Sunshine asked, still in her cute and gentle manner.
The boy shook his head. “No.”
Disappointment shadowed Sunshine’s little face. She looked at Esther with a tinge of guilt and sobbed. “Mommy, Pixie’s gone.”
Pixie had been there before. Why did she suddenly disappear?
Although Esther felt disappointed she did not find Pixie, she did not want Sunshine to feel burdened.
She squatted before Sunshine, gently stroked her cute face, and comforted her, “Sunshine, you’ve provided very useful information. Now, let’s go to the hospital staff to inquire about the situation when Pixie was here.”
Sunshine became lively again and said, “I’ll take you there!”
Benz took a long glance at the boy lying on the bed as Esther and the kids left. If his memory did not fail him, the boy was the sickly heir of the Sandersons. Why was he there?
Sunshine casually stopped a nurse, calling out sweetly, “Ms. Nurse!”
She even thrust a bag of snacks to the nurse.
No one could resist the charm of a child, especially a super cute and sweet little princess like Sunshine. Everyone could not help but adore her.
“What’s the matter?” the nurse asked.
Sunshine pointed to the ward and asked, “Where did the kid who stayed here before go?”
“I’m not sure,” the nurse replied gently. “If you want to know about her, you can check the discharge information.”
“Thank you,” Sunshine said.
Esther and the others followed Sunshine to the hospital registration department.
When the head of the department learned the purpose of their visit, he raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you here to look for someone?”
“Yes, sir, she’s my daughter,” Esther said.
