Chapter 383
“Plagiarized?” Esther seemed surprised.
Anna massaged her temples and sat down to take a sip of the juice the service staff had made. ” It’s an affordable luxury series targeting young women aged 25 to 35. Our competitor paid off the original designer to sell her designs to them.
“The problem now is that we can’t launch our products even if we do sue the designer. The company must come up with another design before the launch. Otherwise, we’ll become the laughing stock in our industry for being unable to deliver due to plagiarism.”
Esther had done some design work in the past, but it was for Anna’s personal exhibition, so she wasn’t under any pressure. Now, Anna was asking her to do some very important work, and Esther wasn’t sure she was up to it.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to do a good job,” she said.
Anna held Esther’s hands and looked her in the eye. “Trust me, Esther, I know you can do it.” “I can’t. I… I don’t think I can,” Esther mumbled.
She felt the weight on her shoulders growing heavier. She was so anxious that her fight-c flight response kicked in.
Anna squeezed Esther’s hands even tighter, but her voice was gentle. “What you need right now is a chance to become famous. Think about it. Once you become famous, others will notice if you disappear suddenly. When that happens, even if Bradley does find you, he won’t dare lock you up as a prisoner like he did before.”
Esther thought about how cruel Bradley was and took a deep breath. Her eyes were now firm and determined as she said, “Okay, I’ll do it.”
“That’s wonderful!” Anna hugged Esther and patted her back for support. “Go ahead and do whatever you think’s necessary. You’ll always have my unwavering support.”
Anna handed Esther her tablet. “The information on the brand is inside here. Go ahead and have a look. I’m going to go play with the children.”
Anna gave Esther a thumbs-up and ran off to join Sunshine and Felix.
The castle’s service staff was still preparing for the barbecue while the children were gossiping.
“Don’t tell Mommy about Mr. Detective, okay?” Sunshine said.
Felix nodded. “Okay.”
Anna and the children sat together and showed them how to bake potatoes, yams, and corn in aluminum foil.
Esther sat under a lamp, her slightly anxious expression making her seem even more
mysterious and sad. Others couldn’t help but glance at her.
