Chapter 419
Sunshine peeked out from behind Jacob, her voice sweet as honey. “Uncle Sanderson, you’re so handsome!”
No one could resist the charm of an adorable child, especially a sweet and well-behaved little. princess like Sunshine.
Upon hearing Sunshine’s compliment, Steffan, who usually maintained an air of detachment, couldn’t help but soften his expression. He gently asked, “What’s your name?”
Sunshine fearlessly trotted over to Steffan, cheerfully took a starry lollipop from her bag, and offered it to him.
“Uncle Sanderson, my name is Sunshine,” she said in a soft, sweet voice, drawing out the last syllable.
Steffan eagerly accepted the lollipop and inquired, “Sunshine, do you like Jacob?”
“I like him!” Sunshine said, turning her gaze to the seemingly expressionless Jacob.
With an adorable expression, she playfully asked Steffan, “Uncle Sanderson, do you need a daughter?”
Sunshine’s words took Steffan aback, but he quickly smiled warmly. “Oh, really?” he asked. ” Does Sunshine want to be my daughter?”
Sunshine nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! I like Jacob!”
Steffan understood Sunshine’s intention. She liked Jacob, which was why she wanted to be Steffan’s daughter, to remain close to him.
“Sunshine, if you become my daughter, you won’t be able to stay with Jacob forever. However, you can be my daughter-in-law…”
Sunshine’s face was filled with question marks as she naively asked Steffan, “What’s a daughter-in-law?”
Jacob really did not want to entertain the idea of a grown man like Steffan trying to coax a cute little girl like Sunshine. He walked behind Sunshine, picked her up from behind, and spoke in a babyish voice. “Sunshine, don’t listen to his nonsense.”
He was a dying boy.
What daughter-in-law?
Seeing Jacob protect Sunshine like this, Steffan could not help but push up his glasses. His eyes scrutinized Jacob and Sunshine as he stared at them.
He had always thought Jacob was cold and emotionless. Even when other children were crying and shouting for their mothers, he showed no emotion. Now, it seemed that was not the case.
Observing Jacob tenderly holding Sunshine, the not-so-shy Felix approached Steffan and asked innocently, “Uncle Sanderson, do you need a son?”
Amused by Felix’s words, Steffan laughed heartily and lifted him up. He gazed into his eyes. and said in a deep voice, “I don’t need a son. I already have Jacob, and that’s enough.”
Felix tilted his head, pondered momentarily, and then asked with clarity, “Uncle Sanderson, do you need a wife?”
