Chapter 422
Xara would not miss out on Jacob’s growth.
“Xara, it’s not too late to make amends now. I’ll be waiting for you here,” Esther said.
“Okay.”
Upon ending the call, Xara promptly sought out Kevin, the director of the Warner Group’s private hospital
“Mr Slade, I am submitting my resignation letter,” she declared
Kevin received the letter and casually discarded it into the trash.
“Not approved.”
Xara did not argue with Kevin She simply said, “Mr Slade, the employment agreement i signed allows me to resign whenever I choose I’ll compile patient information under my care tonight and forward it to your email. You can then transfer the data to my successor.”
Xara’s urgency surprised Kevin. Baffled, he asked, “Dr. Sadler, what prompted this sudden decision to resign?”
“My son is sick. I need to go back and be with him,” she replied.
Kevin exclaimed, “You’re married? And you even have a son?”
“Yes.”
Kevin’s gaze scanned Xara skeptically, struggling to accept the truth. He cautiously asked, “Dr. Sadler, you’re not lying to me, are you?”
“I became a parent at a rather young age,” Zara stated in a distant tone. She then added, “I’m leaving ”
After Xara left, Kevin logged into the hospital’s official website and searched for Kara’s personal information. As he observed her extensive work history, he pondered the reason behind her frequent job changes. How could her turnover rate be so high?
Kevin’s phone rang suddenly. While engrossed in the computer’s information, he answered the call, inquiring, “Kevin speaking, who’s this?”
“It’s me,” came Bradley’s cold voice, tinged with arrogance. He sneered. “Kevin, guess what I’ve just received?”
Kevin, lost in thought, replied absentmindedly, “Could it be the court date for your divorce lawsuit with Esther?”
“Sharp as ever.” Bradley nonchalantly tossed the documents in his grasp onto the desk “I don’t have Esther’s contact information, but you probably do. Convey that I accept her divorce proposal, though I’m intrigued to witness any judge audacious enough to approve it!”
Rubbing his throbbing temples, Kevin felt a headache coming on. He said, helpless, “Bradley, 1 don’t have Esther’s contact information either.”
“Don’t you?” Bradley’s reply was cold.
Kevin chuckled self-deprecatingly, saying, “In Esther’s view, I’m practically your accomplice. She wouldn’t think to reach out to me.”
