My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 486

Chapter 486

Liliane glanced at the courtroom one last time, clenching her teeth before leaving. Outside the courthouse, a taxi awaited her.

“Ms. Anstey, your bags are ready.” the taxi driver said.

Confused, Liliane opened an LV travel bag in the taxi’s backseat. Surprisingly, it held all her ID documents and bank cards.

“Who are you?” she asked.

The taxi driver explained, “I’m just following orders, Ms. Anstey. I’ll get you safely to the airport.”

Liliane texted the mysterious man but got no response, as before.

With time before reaching the airport, she decided to watch the divorce trial between Bradley and Esther on her phone.

In the courtroom, Clark, Esther’s witness, presented damning evidence against Bradley, including videos of him imprisoning her. Clark’s testimony heavily favored Esther, swaying the trial.

Bradley appeared cold, restrained by Jonathan’s reminders not to disrupt the trial.

Jonathan leaned over, whispering, “Mr. Warner, let’s change our strategy.”

“Go on,” Bradley’s eyes held disdain.

Jonathan continued. “Let’s shift to a custody battle. You’ve cared for Felix for five years. It’s a strong point for us.”

Bradley’s gaze fixed on Esther. He knew securing Felix’s custody would control her. “Alright.” Jonathan sighed in relief. He had been afraid of Bradley’s resistance to divorce at such a critical

moment.

“Your Honor, we have no objections to Mr. Clark’s testimony.”

As Jonathan spoke, Tanya and Esther were surprised. They expected the legal team to vigorously challenge Clark’s testimony, but Jonathan changed his position abruptly.

“Esther, I suspect they might manipulate the issue of Felix’s custody,” Tanya whispered.

“What should we do then?” Esther asked.

Esther worried about winning custody of Felix. She didn’t want Bradley to have him. If Bradley got Felix, it would be hard for her to see him in the future. Bradley might even use Felix to threaten her. What should she do then?

“In matters of custody, the judge and jurors tend to consider the child’s wishes. As long as Felix chooses you, other issues shouldn’t be too significant.”

Tanya’s words gradually eased Esther’s restless heart.
