My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 498

Chapter 498

“I’m only devoted to you,” Jasper said.

Esther looked at the green rose in her hand with surprise. “So, this is the meaning of a green rose? I’ve never heard of it before.”

The others in the park all looked at the green rose in Esther’s hand in unison. She could not help but worry. “Will they think I picked the flower?”

Not picking flowers while admiring them was the most basic etiquette.

“They won’t.”

As Esther walked along, she received another orange rose from a young girl.

“The meaning of an orange rose is to offer you a mysterious love.”

Following that, a pregnant woman handed Esther a pink rose.

“The meaning of a pink rose is first love.”

Esther, though a bit slow to catch on, suddenly grasped that Jasper was confessing his feelings to her. She halted, casting her eyes around the garden. The distant music filled her ears, and an urge to escape washed over her.

She had always seen herself and Jasper as just friends. It wasn’t until Jasper revealed his social media account, ThereWithYou, as a way to safeguard her, that she comprehended something important. While her attention had been fixed on Bradley, someone had always been watching over her.

Esther wasn’t skilled at concealing her emotions. When she liked Bradley, everyone could tell. As she understood Jasper’s intentions, she could not move forward.

“Jasper, I’m sorry, I can’t accept your confession.”

Esther wore a serious and sincere expression, causing Jasper to laugh. He quickly grabbed his phone and snapped a picture of Esther’s serious face. “Esther, check out your expression in this photo…”

Esther looked at the picture and exclaimed, “What kind of expression is this?”

“Esther, to be honest, I knew you would reject me when I confessed.”

Jasper looked at the rose garden, then back at Esther, who was as beautiful as a rose.

“I chose today to confess to you as a celebration of your rebirth and to fulfill a dream I had as

a youngster.

“Everything you see before you is a collaboration between me and the municipal government.

“Bradley has never given you a romantic confession, so I’ll make up for that today.

“Esther, you don’t need to worry about this. It’s my business that I like you, and it has nothing to do with you.”

Esther’s eyes became slightly red as she gazed at the rose garden. Suddenly, memories of her teenage years flooded her mind. She had once expressed her desire to be confessed to by the

man she loved in a rose garden. During those days, her heart brimmed with passion and dreams.

“The things I said… You remembered them all?”
