Chapter 52
Bradley could not recall the time he had spent with Esther, no matter how hard he racked his brain. Under what circumstances did they have Tinkerbell and Pixie? Why did he have no recollection of it?
Bradley was extremely frustrated and annoyed. He pulled out a box of cigarettes and lit one up by his lips. The flickering flame danced in front of him.
He then took his phone to call Cole.
“Cole, I want all the video material from that hotel from five years ago.’
“Yes, Mr. Warner.”
“Everything.”
“I understand.”
Bradley went through stick after stick of cigarettes. The air reeked of cigarette smoke, and he was barely aware of it.
He let himself loose and dove into the reminiscence of five years ago, trying to seek the smallest clue from the sealed memories.
It was all in vain. He had no impression of being together with Esther five years ago.
He only remembered his head becoming heavy after his grandfather passed him a glass of wine. When he opened his eyes again, the person lying next to him was Liliane.
As a man, he would not reach the extent of not being able to distinguish if he had done anything.
It was also after the video of Esther being exposed that he knew she had conspired with his grandfather to give him a “special” wine. The unexpected coincidence had fulfilled Liliane’s wish instead and caused Esther to suffer the consequences.
The memories of five years ago were not wonderful,
If it were not for this DNA paternity test, Bradley would have wished never to mention the “shame” of five years ago again.
Clark stood at the door and knocked gently.
Considering Felix’s health, Bradley had never smoked in front of him. He instinctively extinguished his cigarette when he heard the knock and turned on the ventilation system to circulate the smoke out of the room before clearing his throat.
“Come in.”
Clark entered the room. He saw the ashtray on the table at a glance but did not stop Bradley from smoking.
“Mr. Bradley, Mr. Felix wants to see the stars. Can I take him to the rooftop for it?”
