My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 622

Chapter 622

A flicker of regret crossed Mandy’s face as Bradley’s cold gaze met Esther’s concerned look. He calmly said, “You saved me. There’s no need to apologize.”

Mandy and Bradley went to her hospital bed.

Esther desperately wanted to know how hurt Bradley was. Unfortunately, her legs felt heavy, as if made of lead, making it nearly impossible to move.

The doctor and nurse changed Bradley’s bandages while Mandy watched, her eyes filled with worry. She thought, ‘I should’ve tried harder. Why didn’t I make his wound worse? He deserves to feel the pain I felt when he left me at

“Doctor, his wound…”

“Mr. Warner needs rest and should stay in bed,” the doctor advised.

“Can I move to this hospital?” Bradley looked at Mandy and added softly, “There’s something important I need to take care of here.”

The doctor checked the bed records before reluctantly saying, “I’m sorry, Mr. Warner, but we don’t have any available beds.”

Mandy quickly suggested, “Could Mr. Warner stay in this room? We can arrange for another bed next door.”

Upon hearing Mandy’s proposal, Bradley’s eyes brightened. The doctor was aware of Mandy’s true identity, so he agreed without hesitation. “Alright, we can do that for now.’

The hospital was a private facility known for its top-notch service.

Mandy’s belongings were moved to Esther’s room, and Bradley settled into what was originally Mandy’s bed.

Mandy entered Esther’s room with excitement. Pretending to be concerned, she asked, “Mr. Warner’s condition has worsened. The doctor said he needs more rest. Would you mind sharing a room with me for a while, Mrs. Warner?”

Esther’s eyes were red from recent tears, which brought a sense of satisfaction to Mandy. She took pleasure in Esther’s suffering and anticipated more moments of joy.

“I don’t mind,” Esther replied, her voice husky. “But please, stop calling me Mrs. Warner.”

Mandy pretended to be confused and continued. “You’re not officially Mr. Warner’s ex-wife yet, so technically, you are Mrs. Warner.”

“I am not and never have been Mrs. Warner,” Esther declared, her heart filled with sorrow.

And I never will be.”
