Mandy instinctively turned her gaze toward Esther when Bradley touched her. Seeing Esther's eyes dim, she politely thanked Bradley, saying, "Bradley, I'm truly sorry for the trouble."
Bradley remained silent.
Esther quietly averted her gaze. When Bradley had his arm around Mandy earlier, a fleeting pang of sadness gripped her heart.
It was a brief moment of pain, but it brought clarity to Esther. Bradley had found a new love interest, which was a positive development. It meant he wouldn't be fixated on her alone anymore. When he fell in love with Mandy, he would eventually grow tired of Esther and set her free.
Esther entered the kitchen, preparing a fruit platter for Mandy and Liora.
While working, she contemplated whether she should assist Mandy in pursuing Bradley. Mandy had saved Bradley's life by donating her liver, which technically made her his savior. If Mandy took a more proactive approach to win Bradley's heart, it might be just what they needed. After all, it was often easier for a woman to pursue a man than the other way around.
Esther had clearly forgotten her own past failures in this area.
Bradley subtly withdrew his hand as soon as Bradley and Mandy were out of Esther's sight.
At that moment, Mandy felt relief. Bradley's touch on her shoulder had felt unsettling, like a coiled venomous snake ready to strike.
The three of them headed upstairs. As soon as Liora entered the room, she began complaining about the simplicity of the accommodations. Compared to her previous room, this villa's room felt far less comfortable and even shabby.
"Are you satisfied?" Bradley asked curtly.
Mandy pretended to be delighted and softly replied, "Thank you, Bradley. I'm very happy."
