My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 699

"W-What are you doing?"

Bradley remained silent, his actions clearly asserting his dominance over Esther. Her clothes clung to her body, drenched from the shower, and her meticulously tied hair now hung disheveled over her cheeks.

He pushed Esther against the bathroom wall, firmly grasping her chin, and compelled her to confront her own reflection in the mirror. "Esther, who do you see?"

Hearing Bradley's harsh tone, Esther couldn't help but tremble. "Sir?"

A sly grin crept onto Bradley's face as he mockingly asked, "Do you think your employer would treat you like this?"

"Bradley, what... What are you..."

Esther took a deep breath, choosing to ignore Bradley entirely.

"Esther, remember me! Remember this face!" Bradley released his hold on Esther, gazing at her. "You belong to me exclusively, understand?"

Esther adjusted her hair and gently touched her wound once Bradley departed. For a moment, she had experienced a sharp pain. She sat on the bathtub's edge, leaning against the wall, and examined her wound. To her puzzlement, it had not reopened, so she couldn't understand why she had felt that way.

When Bradley noticed that Esther had been in the bathroom for an extended period, he cleared his throat impatiently outside and uttered coldly, "Esther!"

"I'm coming, sir."

Suppressing her pain, Esther hurried out of the bathroom.

"Pour me a glass of wine."

She opened the medical kit and rummaged through its contents, discovering a bottle of painkillers. After taking three tablets with half a glass of warm water, she settled into a small chair meant for kitchen staff, feeling utterly drained.

She continued to touch her wound. It had already healed from the outside, so why did it still ache?

Esther tried to examine herself but couldn't discern any issues for the time being. She speculated that it might be a psychological effect.

Meanwhile, Bradley monitored Esther's actions in the kitchen through his tablet. He casually tossed the tablet onto the bed with a smirk.

"Come in."

Mandy had just knocked on the door. Although there was no immediate response, she heard his voice. She hesitated briefly before entering, suspecting that Bradley might be asleep.
