My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 72

Chapter 72

If Wilson had married Leah back then, he would have treated her like a princess, showering her with love, and he would not bear to see her suffer even a bit.

Wilson picked up the phone and called a doctor from the Warner Group.

“It’s me, Wilson. I have a favor to ask. Can you help me check if there’s a girl named Esther Quill in your hospital?”

“Oh, Wilson, what’s going on?” The doctor teased him. “She’s not even dead yet, and you’re so eager to get her heart?”

“Just checking compatibility to see if it’s suitable. Just send me the test data.” Wilson was willing to sacrifice his hospital’s interests to get what he wanted. “You wanted to visit our hospital’s artificial heart lab before, right? I’ll take you for a visit.”

“Wilson, you better not trick me!”

“I never lie. You have my word,” Wilson assured him.

After a brilliant performance, Leah returned to her car. Over the years, she had never hesitated to manipulate Wilson with her sweet words-Wilson had orchestrated it all, including Liliane’s fake pregnancy and childbirth.

Back then, Wilson did pursue her, but she never regarded this man from a small town as someone worth her attention. Of course, Leah never anticipated that the man she once looked down upon would marry the daughter of his mentor, inherit all the mentor’s connections, and become one of the country’s most formidable experts in cardiology.

For Leah, there was no better tool than Wilson in this world.

She believed that as long as she acted pitiful, shed a few tears, and pretended to be even more fragile, Wilson would willingly become the knife and personally procure Esther’s heart for Liliane’s transplant.

Leah sneered with a mocking smile.

‘Esther, don’t think I’m heartless!

“Your birth is your innate sin!

‘Both the mistress and the mistress’ daughter deserve to die!”

On the other side, a cardiac surgeon entered Esther’s ward, where Felix was sleeping in her arms. The mother and son were nestled together, their breathing rhythms in sync.

The heart surgeon could not bear to wake either Felix or Esther with such a heartwarming scene.

“They’re mother and son?” he asked.
