In the ICU.
Felix quietly watched over Esther. He read a book and stayed by her side in silence. When he grew tired of reading, he grasped Esther's hand and nestled his little face against the back of her hand, eventually falling asleep.
Seeing Felix sleeping so peacefully, Agatha, who had just entered, chose not to wake him. Instead, she gently lifted him and placed him in Esther's arms.
Felix slept peacefully in his mother's embrace, and they cuddled closely. Agatha hoped that Esther might wake up from her coma upon feeling Felix's presence.
Agatha examined Esther and administered acupuncture treatment as planned. As she inserted the final needle, Esther, who had been in a coma, suddenly opened her eyes.
"Grandma Foster..." Esther's voice was hoarse as she gazed at Agatha in disbelief. "Am I dreaming?"
Agatha was accustomed to life's uncertainties and couldn't help but shed tears at that moment.
"No, dear, this is no dream."
Tears welled in Esther's eyes. She had thought she would die when she collapsed in a pool of blood, but there she was, alive.
"Grandma Foster, it hurts so much." Esther couldn't help but whimper when she saw Agatha's concerned face. "It really hurts."
She felt like every cell in her body was screaming in pain.
