Liliane wanted to establish the image of a gentle and caring mother in front of Bradley, so she asked, “Felix, Mommy’s never lied to you!” 

“You did!” Sitting in Bradley’s arms, Felix counted on his little fingers and listed all of Liliane’s lies. 

“You said you’d take me to the amusement park to ride the Ferris wheel, but you didn’t. 

“You said you’d take me to the beach to collect seashells, but you didn’t. 

“You said my grandparents love me, but Grandma doesn’t like me at all!” 

Although Felix was young, he was intelligent and had a good memory. Liliane had made many empty promises to him without fulfilling any of them, and he took the opportunity to expose them all. 

Upon hearing Felix’s accusations, Bradley realized that Liliane had indeed promised many things. to Felix but never followed through. 

“Liliane, is what Felix said true?” asked Bradley. 

Liliane had no choice but to put on a pitiful appearance and said with extreme sadness, “Brad, in the past, Felix wasn’t in good health, so how could I dare to take him out to play? Felix, now that you’ve undergone surgery and your health has improved, Mommy can take you out to play at any time.” 

“Really?” Felix’s eyes sparkled with joy. “Can I go on the pirate ship?” 

Liliane instinctively put a hand over her heart. She had congenital heart disease and could not even ride the Ferris wheel, let alone something as thrilling as a pirate ship. 

“I’ll take you on a merry-go-round,” she said. 

“No!” Felix said angrily, “If you take me on the pirate ship, I won’t be angry anymore!” 

Liliane had no choice but to agree. “Fine, I’ll take you on the pirate ship when you’re discharged from the hospital.” 

“Pinky promise.” Felix extended his pinky finger to hook with Liliane’s. 

After making the promise, Felix picked up his iPad and skillfully opened the camera, switching to 

video mode. 

“Daddy, Mommy, will you have more little babies in the future?” 

Liliane smiled on the surface but cursed Felix in various languages in her heart. This troublemaker was really a curse! Why did he not die in the operating theater? How long did she have to pretend. to be a virtuous wife and loving mother? 

In contrast to Liliane’s frustration, Bradley remained calm and assured in the video that they would only have Felix as their child. 

Having achieved his goal, Felix saved the video on his iPad. 

“Daddy, Mommy, when I grow up, I’ll take good care of you!” 

Hearing Felix’s innocent words, Bradley smiled and said, “As long as you’re healthy and safe, nothing else matters.”
