After leaving the party, Alden and Serenity headed straight to the airport, where a private jet was already waiting for them.

Serenity had no idea where they were going for their honeymoon—Alden had taken care of everything and had been incredibly secretive about it.

When they stepped out of the car, Alden carefully helped her onto the plane, taking every precaution since she was well into her pregnancy.

After nearly two hours of flying, they finally caught sight of their honeymoon destination.

Serenity gazed out the window, and suddenly, the glow of a very familiar monument caught her eye.

"Paris?" she gasped in excitement.

"When you first came to Valentia, you told me you were saving up to visit, weren’t you?" Alden said, recalling one of their many conversations.

"Yes! Wow! This is… It’s…." Serenity tried to speak, but she was so overwhelmed she couldn’t find the words. "This is the best gift you could have ever given me."

Alden just watched as his wife looked at him, her eyes brimming with joy.

"I’d do anything for you and the kids… There’s nothing I wouldn’t consider."

"Thank you!" Serenity threw herself into his arms.

"Thank you, my love."

"Alright, let’s buckle up. It’s time to land. We have a whole week here to enjoy."

"Thank you for this beautiful surprise!"

Once they got off the plane, Alden drove them to the place where they would be staying in Paris. Serenity was still wearing her wedding dress, and Alden was just as elegantly dressed.

He had booked a suite at the Ritz. As soon as they arrived at their room, Alden scooped his wife into his arms and managed to open the door.

"Welcome to what will be your home for an entire week. Although, if you decide otherwise, Mrs. Palmer, we can stay even longer."

"Thank you, Mr. Palmer!"

The moment Alden set her down, he pulled her close and kissed her deeply, leaving them both breathless.

"You look absolutely stunning tonight! You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known. I love you! And I want you to know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Serenity." He cupped her face in both hands, looking into her eyes.

"Alden… I love you too, and believe me when I say I want to spend my life by your side. I could never get tired of being with you, of this, of everything we are together."

"You know something?"

"Tell me, my love," Alden said, holding her close and kissing her.

"I know this might sound crazy or even wrong, but sometimes… I’m grateful for what happened with Frank and Leonardo."

"What?" Alden looked at her in surprise.

"Yeah. If they hadn’t orchestrated that horrible plan, you and I would have never gotten the chance to truly be together. And because of that, I can say I’m grateful for how things turned out," Serenity said with absolute certainty.

"You think we never would have ended up together otherwise?" he asked, a hint of doubt in his voice.
