Chapter 0238
The call Alexia received from her grandfather had left her an edge. She knew he didn’t mess around. If he wanted, he could send her husband proof that she had ordered the removal of Maximus’s only brother.
She took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh. She needed to talk to Maximus, But how? She had no idea. He was already furious after discovering she had a lover. The worst part? Her lover was someone her husband knew all too well from high school.
[One week earlier]
Alexia was at home when an unknown number called. Intrigued, she picked up.
“Hello?”
“Hello, my love! Don’t you remember me?”
“Gabriel Lambert?”
“That’s right, my love! I’m in Valentia and thought maybe we could grab a drink. I’m here alone and figured you might-”
“Gabriel, don’t you know? I’m a married woman! My husband is Maximus Palmer!” she said with a tone of dignity.
“I know! But it’s just one drink. We’ll chat, and then go our separate ways. Just a little talk about old times.”
“Let me think about it,” Alexia replied, her stomach churning.
Gabriel Lambert had been the first man in her life. He had taught her how to please him. Maximus was good in bed, but Gabriel could bring out her wildest side. Just hearing his voice over the phone sent shivers down her spine and a strange tingle through her body. That man knew exactly what he could do to her with a single call. The art teacher was a true ladies‘ man who knew how to make women fall at his feet.
memory
Gabriel was about twenty years older than Alexia. She sat down in her living room, lost for a moment in the
of how he had won her over. He had been a charmer through and through. Back then, Alexia was one of the most beautiful girls in school, and she wasn’t yet dating Maximus–though it wouldn’t be long. Gabriel had been her painting teacher, a class her mother had insisted she take as an extracurricular activity. When she walked into her first class, she had been captivated by the man standing before her–a true Adonis. At the time, he was 36, the stereotypical handsome teacher who knew exactly how attractive and charismatic he was.
From the moment Alexia arrived, he made her feel special. He gave her extra attention and taught her techniques none of her classmates learned, which caused some jealousy among them. But even so, they considered her lucky. Gabriel only pursued girls who were of age, and Alexia, at 15, was already a young woman. Her body was well- developed for her age. She wasn’t a troublemaker, but her appearance caught the eye of every boy at school. She was the typical girl everyone wanted, though her heart back then belonged to the charming and attentive Maximus Palmer.
One day, she stayed late after art class because Gabriel wanted to discuss some coursework with her. Alexia was naturally a bit flirtatious, but not shameless. Sure, she’d found him attractive, but she’d never seriously considered anything could happen between them. It seemed impossible, so she dismissed the idea.
Her surprise was great when, after some talk about class, Gabriel moved closer and brushed her cheek. Shocked, she pulled back, but Gabriel grabbed her wrist. At first, she resisted, nervous and hesitant, but little by little, his seduction wore her down.
