+25 BONUS.
After narrowly escaping death at the hands of her husband, Alexia climbed into her car and sped away, desperate to reach civilization. Her spirits lifted when she finally saw the glow of city lights in the distance. Inside the car, she cursed Maximus relentlessly. He had always fallen for her tricks, always been the fool who stayed with her. Whether it was for love or for their children, he always gave in to her. But now, something had changed.
“Alexia, you’re old. Accept it–your best days are behind you,” whispered a mocking voice in her head.
As she drove, tears streaming down her face, she kept checking her rearview mirror, afraid someone might be following her. A chill ran down her spine when she saw headlights matching her speed. Panic set in, and before she could react, she lost control of the car. It spun wildly in the air before slamming into a barrier.
Amazingly, Alexia survived the horrific crash, but her body was severely injured. For the first time, she was experiencing the full weight of karma. Blood covered her face, and though she tried to move, her body refused to obey. She wanted to scream, but no sound came out.
“Sir, it’s done, but the wretched woman is still alive. Do you want us to finish her off like how it was with Peter?”
“No. Leave her to her fate. If she survives, she’ll never be the same. That damn woman thought I’d let her walk away unscathed after what she did to my father.”
“The road’s deserted. No one will find her until morning or until a truck passes by.”
“She sealed her own fate. If it weren’t for Maximus Palmer having her investigated, I wouldn’t have discovered the truth about my father’s death. Her damn grandfather is still alive, but he’ll soon understand what happens when you mess with our family. For a moment, I thought Maximus might beat us to it, but it’s clear he doesn’t have the guts to finish her off. Maybe it’s because of his kids. But me? I’d never let a woman who ruined so many lives walk away.”
After reporting the accident, leaving Alexia alive but helpless, her assailant got back into his car and drove off. Just as predicted, it took hours for someone to come across the wreck. Near dawn, a delivery truck slammed on its brakes to avoid hitting the scattered remains of Alexia’s luxury car. The driver got out to investigate and found a woman lying near the wreckage. He immediately called emergency services.
