“These days, if I like something, I go for it. If someone interests me, I let them know. And to be honest, this hasn’t happened to me before–not until yesterday. It’s no secret like you, Celeste. You’re a beautiful woman, and I’m genuinely interested in getting to know you
“This morning, when I left your apartment, I felt like something was missing. All day, I couldn’t shake that feeling. And now that you’re here in front of me, I know it was you. You’re what’s missing, Celeste. Call me crazy or eccentric, but since I saw you yesterday morning, something inside me hasn’t been at ease. I love your scent roses and water. I love your wild curls, your natural beauty the way you look in your school uniform, and how stunning you are right now. You’re an incredibly sensual woman, and belleve me, a thousand thoughts are running through my head. But the main one is this: I like you, and I want to court you.
“I want to know you better. I want to take you out to dinner, have coffee with you, go to the movies. I want to do things I haven’t done in ages. I want to kiss those full, rosy lips. I want to know what your kisses taste like. I want to hear your voice when I call you. I want to feel the softness of your skin. I want to know the taste of your body…”
Celeste stared at him, wide–eyed. Of all the things she could have imagined happening tonight, hearing these words from Peter had never crossed her mind. A surge of adrenaline coursed through her, stirring something deep in her stomach. Peter finished his wine in one gulp, stepped closer, and wrapped his arm around her waist. Before she could react, he kissed her–a passionate, intense kiss. For a moment, she froze, but soon she found herself responding to him, letting the kiss deepen.
Peter committed the moment to memory. Her lips were as soft and full as he’d imagined, and the kiss was everything he’d hoped for. It had been so long since he’d done something like this, and it felt euphoric. If it were up to him, he’d take things further right then and there, but he forced himself to pull back slowly, knowing he had to pace himself. When he finally stopped, Celeste still had her eyes closed, her expression making it clear she wasn’t ready for the kiss to end.
For Celeste, it had been years since she’d allowed anyone to show her affection–except for the innocent gestures of her young students. But this was different. The butterflies that had awakened in her stomach felt intoxicating, and she didn’t want the sensation to stop.
The cool wind brushed against her skin, making her shiver, Peter noticed and pulled her closer.
“I’d better take you home before you catch a cold,” he said gently.
She nodded, still processing what had just happened.
On the drive back, a comfortable silence settled between them. It wasn’t awkward–each was lost in their own thoughts. Peter wanted more. He didn’t want Celeste to be just a fleeting encounter from the weekend. He wanted to see her again, to build something more. But he wasn’t sure what she was thinking.
Celeste, on the other hand, felt conflicted. She could still feel the imprint of his lips on hers, could still smell his masculine cologne, could still hear his quickened breaths. She wanted more too, but she didn’t know how to ask
