Chapter 0477
“You don’t know how much I needed to do this!” Peter said, pulling his lips away from hers..
Celeste was stunned. She never imagined he would show up at this hour to find her. She noticed something odd about him—he was sweating cold, his hands were shaking, and his face was pale. They both entered the apartment, and she looked at him, saying, “Are you okay? What’s going on? Do you want some water?”
“I just need you. I just need to be in your arms. You’re the only thing that can calm me.”
Celeste looked at him in disbelief. She knew that behind that confident façade, there was something more, something must have been tormenting this man Peter, from the days they had been seeing each other, always had a look full of confidence, but tonight, he didn’t look like that. He seemed like a scared little boy. All she could do was embrace him.
“Peter, you know you’re always welcome in my home whenever you want, but I’m worried about the state you’re in. You’re not okay. What happened?”
“Celeste… There’s something I need to tell you,” Peter said, trying to clear his throat.
“Of course! Tell me what’s bothering you, maybe I can help..”
“Celeste, just by letting me in and being here with you, you’re already helping me,” Peter said, pulling her waist closer to him.
Celeste looked at him and extended her arm to kiss him on the lips. Peter lifted her and carried her toward the bedroom. She thought that this man was going to take her in that moment, but it wasn’t like that. He laid her down on the bed and then cuddled up beside her. Realizing his intentions, Celeste felt a bit like a pervert; her mind had already crossed a few images of previous days, but he just wanted to lie next to her. All she did was play with Peter’s messy hair.
A short while later, the man had fallen asleep. She got up, took off his shoes, and covered him with a blanket. Then, she lay back down beside him. He pulled her by the waist and drew her closer to him.
“I want this every day for the rest of my life. I want this, Celeste. I want you by my side. I want to know that I’ll fall asleep next to you…” Peter said, burying his face in Celeste’s curly hair.
Celeste could feel the heartbeat of Peter, but she didn’t understand what he was going through. She knew it had to be something very painful; she saw it in his eyes. After a few minutes, feeling the warmth of the man beside her, Celeste fell asleep.
A few hours later, Celeste woke up when she no longer felt the warmth of the man beside her. She guessed he must have left sometime during the night. She looked at the clock–it was 3:00 a.m. She lay back down; there were still two hours before she had to get up. She took her phone ready to call Peter, when the man came out of the bathroom, wrapped only in a towel around his waist. Celeste’s cheeks flushed as she looked at the handsome man approaching her.
The man smiled when he saw her and sat at the edge of the bed. He took her by the neck and kissed her passionately.
“Celeste… I really need you with me. You don’t know how much I need you…” said the man, resting his forehead against hers.
“Peter… Is something wrong? A few hours ago, I didn’t want to ask too much, but you seemed so affected. I didn’t know what to say, and then you fell asleep, and now you’re saying all of this. What’s going on? Tell me If I can help, I will, but I don’t like seeing that tortured look in your eyes.
“Celeste… I think I need to talk to you about my past. You did it, and I told you I would too. Although I try not to,
