“Yeah, Dad. I know it’s not easy, and that there will always be new things to learn. I can’t take anything lightly.” 

“That includes talking to Serenity’s parents. You need to do that.” 

“There’s a lot we have to discuss–including the truth. Dad I love Serenity. We’re expecting a baby. And we got married in secret.” 

“What?!” Peter’s eyes widened in shock. “Alden, Serenity… Why would you do that?” 

“Peter… We were afraid my father would try to separate us, Serenity admitted, defending their decision. 

“Serenity, sweetheart… Even if your father wanted to separate you, you’re old enough that he can’t. And besides, I know Marcus–he wouldn’t do something that stupid.” 

“Dad, I know this won’t be easy, but I know we can handle together. You taught me to be strong. You taught me to face problems head–on, so I’m not afraid. Serenity and I love each other, and Ethan is already starting to warm up to her.” 

Peter watched as they held hands. Serenity’s baby bump was small but visible now. As much as he wanted to stay positive, he knew this was going to cause a storm. The parents of this young married couple were not going to take this lightly. 

“I’m not exactly jumping for joy,” Peter admitted. “But if this is the path you two have chosen, I support you. I won’t say it’s right or wrong–just be aware of everything that comes with it. 

Now, you know I’m a man of few words… I want to see my Ethan. Bring him to me. If he’s still sleeping, just lay him next to me–I can watch over him here.” 

“Dad…” 

“Please. Just bring him–I’ve missed him so much.” 

“Alright, Dad…” 

“Alden… Everything I just said, I said it as your father. But as Serenity’s father… I’m asking you to respect her. And I sincerely hope that this isn’t just a game for either of you. Because whether you realize it or not, you’re both my kids. And while I’ll always stand by the side of reason…. 

“There’s one more thing. If I lose my memory after the operation, I need you both to help me. Help me create a new life. I want to meet my grandchild. I want to keep seeing Ethan. I want to make new memories–I don’t want to forget you. Please.” 

“Dad, you’re going to be fine. Everything will turn out okay. Soon, we’ll be back in Slovenia. You’ll be home, and you’ll be able to go back to your peaceful life.” 

“I don’t think it’ll be that peaceful, Alden… I have something to tell you. Something to tell both of you.” 

“What is it, Dad?” 

“You’re going to have two new little siblings.” 

“What?” Alden’s jaw dropped. “What do you mean?”
