My Marriage to a Mute Girl novel Chapter 44

Edith froze, "What third option?"

Before she could return to her sense, Lexie suddenly raised her hand and pushed towards Edith’s shoulder with force.

There was a loud splash in the pool.

"Ahem ...... help"

"......"

Lexie stood on the shore, the moonlight illuminating her face with extreme coldness.

The third option was to let Edith fall into the pool with her damn necklace.

The commotion at the pool soon alerted the people in the banquet hall, and the waiters rushed to rescue Edith from the pool, one by one, wrapped around her with towels, and even so, she made a fool of herself in front of the crowd.

"Edith," Peter hugged her, "Are you okay?"

Edith cried out, shaking and pointing at Lexie, "She pushed me down!"

As those words fell, the onlookers were in an uproar.

Peter's face sank as he stared at Lexie, "What's going on?"

Lexie didn't say a word, nor did she deny it.

"Good, Lexie, you're going to be ungrateful after becoming Mrs. Howard, aren’t you? You dare to do this to Edith, if anything happens to Edith, I ...... will ......"

"What?" A deep, cold voice came from behind Lexie, interrupting Peter's reprimanding voice.

Before Lexie could turn around, her side was already covered by a tall figure.

Looking at Alan, the anger on Peter's face was clearly suppressed a bit, "What? Mr. Alan, are you coming to defend your wife now?"

The words reminded the crowd.

Lexie was no longer the previous Miss Mitchell who had been bullied, she was at least Alan's wife, no matter what she has done, Peter should at least respect Alan.

Alan, however, was indifferent as always, "This is your Mitchell family's business, I'm just here to take a look."

There was absolutely no way to figure out what he meant.

Lexie laughed at herself inwardly, how could he possibly help her?

If he could help her, Edith would not have so much courage to play such tricks.

After hearing Alan say so, Peter was relieved, but after all, Alan came, he could not say it was Lexie's fault, so he coldly questioned, "What the hell is going on here? How did Edith fall into the pool?"

Alan stuck his hands in his trouser pockets and stood aside as if he was an outsider watching the action.

Lexie withdrew the gaze that fell on him, no longer making expectations, and a hint of aggression surfaced on her face, gesturing, [Edith's necklace fell into the pool, she wanted to pick it up herself, and I tried to stop her, but failed.]

"Nonsense," Peter's tone sank, "How would Edith jump into the pool for a necklace?"

[Ask her, she jumped into the fish pond once before at Howard’s house, right, Edith?]

Lexie's face was rarely cold, she was aggressive at this moment, even mentioned the fact that Edith fell into the fish pond at Howard’s house.

Edith shrank in Peter's arms, and her face really changed.

If Lexie had said that that things out, it would be more embarrassing.

The guests present could not read sign language, only Peter and Edith could, so at this moment the guests looked at each other, not knowing what Lexie was saying.

"What fish pond?" Alan's voice wasn't loud, but Lexie heard it.

Lexie was stunned and subconsciously looked at him.

He could read sign language?

Edith immediately panicked, her face was pale and she said sharply, "No, I didn’t say that my sister pushed me, I mean ...... I mean I was going to pick up the necklace, and I misunderstood her."

When those words fell, the guests instantly murmured.

"How could she misunderstand?"
