After Evie hung up the phone, her face was flushed.
Like a ripe apple.
Athena held the goblet and looked at her with an ambiguous smile. "It seems that I can completely rest assured."
"For what?" Evie muttered and asked.
"You really care about Aron."
What Athena was most worried about was that Evie couldn't go through the harm that Caspian had brought her.
"He exchanged his sincerity for my love, and I would be too indifferent if I rejected him," Evie said righteously.
Athena narrowed her eyes in a smile.
"However, there is one thing I don't quite understand." After a while, she suppressed her smile. "According to what you told me, you got married after dating three times, and the process of his proposal went smoothly. But in his eyes, it seems that he has tried very hard to marry you."
"Well, yes..."
Evie blinked her eyes.
"Maybe he just said this to the public so that people will feel that I'm precious?"
Athena shook her head without hesitation. "It's possible for others to think so, but since Aron had said that, he must also think so."
"Yeah..."
Evie nodded thoughtfully again.
"You said before that you met Aron because of a deal on land, didn't you?" Athena asked.
Evie nodded.
"Why did he suddenly sell land? And the location of that land is quite good. How much did he ask?" Athena continued to ask.
"The price was common in the market, but the middleman said that it can be negotiated."
"Isn't that ridiculous? For that position, the price should be higher than the normal price. How could he accept further negotiation?"
"The middleman said that he needed money then..." As Evie said, she also felt that it was wired. The Timberlake family may be short of everything except money.
After all, when she came to visit his family for the first time, they gave her an eight-digit check to her.
"He needs money? But after successfully marrying you, he gave the land to you as an engagement gift without asking for any money from you." Athena raised her eyebrows.
Evie was at a loss. "You mean, he knew from the beginning that I wanted to buy land, so he came to me?"
"Obviously." Athena nodded.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup
I am at Chapter 550 and there are almost 2 stories in 1. Aron and Evie's story could very well have been made into another story. Such a waste of time because I am reading for Byron and Athena, not Evie and Aron...
Is there no new updates after this one?...
