Chapter 1596 Reputation Warning
Sally had it all figured out.
She was ready to let go of some pride and persistence and end the tug-of-war with Gideon that had lasted for over a decade.
However, the result was still regrettable.
Sally had been away for half a month, and Gideon could have found a way to contact her. She never blocked his path.
But he hadn't contacted her. As he had done numerous times, he waited for her return with unwavering confidence, acting as though nothing had occurred.
"Well then, how about considering our marriage again?" Elijah's suggestions were like a depth charge.
The message conveyed a significant impact, despite its silence.
"What?" Sally looked at Elijah in shock.
"Ms. Campbell, you're intelligent and clear-headed. You know better than anyone that Mr. Hale isn't your suitable match," Elijah said with utmost directness.
"Are you a better match?" Sally found herself getting frustrated without any apparent reason. She stood abruptly. "Furthermore, why should I consider marriage with you even if I were to let go of Gideon? Am I incapable of living without a man?"
She angrily snatched a book from the nearby table and stormed off after expressing frustration.
The next day, she stayed in her room and didn't go out.
Elijah ensured the staff brought her favorite food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Two days went by like this. Then, Bob visited.
"Ms. Campbell, do you know your reputation isn't great?" Bob crossed his arms and began to speak, "Do you know what kind of person Uncle Elijah is? He started church when he was three. Uncle Elijah was already a highly respected monk before he left the monastery. Throughout the years, his family attempted to set him up with numerous potential partners, yet he never showed interest in them. He knew that your heart belonged to someone else, so he ensured nobody bothered you. Ten years have passed, and you have been pursuing Gideon while my Uncle Elijah has been anticipating this for the same duration. My child has already grown up throughout the time..."
Bob's voice grew softer as he spoke.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup
I am at Chapter 550 and there are almost 2 stories in 1. Aron and Evie's story could very well have been made into another story. Such a waste of time because I am reading for Byron and Athena, not Evie and Aron...
Is there no new updates after this one?...
