Athena woke up at this moment.

She sat up, calmed her wildly beating heartbeat down, and glanced out the window.

Byron had already gotten out of bed, standing before the window to bask in the sun. When he heard the sound, he immediately turned back to look at Athena with a smile on his face.

Athena walked to him while smiling. "I had some work last night. I feared disturbing your rest, so I slept in the lounge."

"It's okay," Byron held Athena's hand. "The child went out just now. Have you seen him?"

Athena looked at Byron and shook her head lightly. "I didn't see him."

"You probably missed him," Byron smiled while shaking his head. "It's fine. He is no longer planning to contact his adoptive mother. He will not be beaten anymore."

Athena held her head up to look at Byron.

Then, she opened her arms and hugged Byron gently, stroking his back with her palms.

"That's good..."

"Honey, do you dislike him?" Byron asked.

"How could that be?" Athena paused before continuing, "I just care about you more. You always get into trouble every time you see him. I'm worried."

During the half-hour observation, Byron also answered several work calls.

Athena had been maintaining online communication with Ennis to confirm Byron's condition.
