Byron looked at Athena in surprise. "You don't know that George is restricted from leaving the country?"

Athena was taken aback.

"He didn't tell you?" Byron smiled.

He lowered his eyes and continued, "Your relationship is the same as before. Neither of you wants to make the other worry."

Athena ignored him.

She turned to make a call.

As soon as the line went through, she asked, "Is George home?"

The person on the other end of the phone said something.

She hung up and glared at Byron. "I thought you were just fastidious and not heartless. Now it seems I misjudged you. Why can't George continue to be a doctor? If he were still a pediatrician, would he have gone down this path? Byron, you're the culprit! How could you do such a thing?"

"Thea, what's the fuss? I haven't done anything yet. The choice is yours," Byron said, gesturing to the last document in front of her.

Athena thought the contract was a guardianship contract.
