Freya averted her eyes from him, too afraid to look.
Instead, she glanced around the room and snatched the desk lamp, swiftly smashing it against the television.
The impact made a loud sound and caused the screen to crack and emit a cloud of black smoke, which then caused the video to stop playing.
Freya threw away the desk lamp and hurriedly approached Byron. She smoothed out her hair, which she hadn't washed in days, trying to make herself look more composed.
She knew he had a soft spot for her tender and calm presence.
"I don't get it at all. You're already married to Ms. Stella, so why must you resort to these antics to torture me?" Freya's voice quivered, feeling a deep sense of betrayal. "But, Byron, you know the kind of person I am..."
"Do you honestly believe I didn't check the video's authenticity before coming here?" Byron's voice grew colder as he questioned. "Freya, you saved my life once, and even though you willingly married into the royal family, I would still care for you upon your return. So, why do you lie?"
"It wasn't like that..." Freya choked back tears while trying to explain.
"Do you have any idea what your lies have cost me?" Byron questioned, his voice steady as he stared into Freya's eyes. Such an intense and piercing gaze was something Freya had never seen from him before. "If you hadn't lied, I would have known about Thea's pregnancy long before Heather and the others could carry out their plan, and none of the troubles that followed would have happened!"
Freya's eyes met his, and the unmistakable disgust in Byron's expression hit her like a wave.
At that moment, she realized that Byron would never forgive her again.
Freya suddenly laughed and said, "You're blaming me for this too, Byron? You believed those fake reports from Heather without even questioning them. And now, you're saying it's because of me? Come on. It couldn't have been more obvious, Byron! You never truly trusted Athena from the beginning, which caused all this tragedy. What responsibility do I bear in this? Why are you blaming me?"
With a chilling gaze, Byron fixed his eyes on her.
"I never said that Heather made those reports," he said slowly and deliberately.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup
I am at Chapter 550 and there are almost 2 stories in 1. Aron and Evie's story could very well have been made into another story. Such a waste of time because I am reading for Byron and Athena, not Evie and Aron...
Is there no new updates after this one?...
